First Date

Brooke's POV

Mama and Mom went to the lake yesterday, they returned really late at night.

Today they wake me up early and say that is time to go back to Star City, pack my bags, put on the jet-pack in the car, have breakfast with everyone, and say goodbye.

We get in the car and Mama starts driving to Star City, I chat for a while with Lucas, we talk about sports and school, then I put some music on, and fell asleep it was going to be a long drive and the past week has been exhausting.

Mama wakes me up when we arrive at Star City, I take my bag, we go up to the apartment, I go to my room, unpack my backpack and bag, take a quick shower, and put on clean clothes.

After a few hours, Mama calls me for dinner, I go sit at the table, in front of Mom and Mama, we have dinner, Mama was talking about what are we doing after school ends, a possibility being that I will go to the same camp Mom went when she was my age.

I was eating some pasta when I see Mom taking the salad bowl, I look at her hand to see she doesn't have on the promise ring Mama gave her but instead, a rose gold ring...wait a damm minute that is the engagement ring Mama bought, the one she was going to propose with.

She proposed, but yesterday Mom didn't have the ring, Mama proposed when they went for a walk yesterday, dammit I wanted to film it for their wedding.

"Brooke?" Mom asks.

"You proposed..." I say looking to Mama.

Mom and Mama stayed silent for a few seconds until Mama spoke "Yeah... I did" Mama looks at me and then at Mom "Your Mom and I are getting married," Mama says sweetly.

Mom and Mama look nervously at me, they were worried because I stay quiet.

"Finally..." I mumble.

"Finally?" Mom asks.

"I mean, you two have been dating for years, you live together, you work together, you meet each other family, and you are raising a kid together, you also act like a married couple"

I get up from the table, jump, and hug Mom.

"Congratulations!" I say I feel Mom wrapping her arms around me "I am really happy for you" I mumble.

"Thank you kiddo" Mom whispers as she lets me go.

I turn around and now hug Mama

"Can I be one of your bridesmaids?" I ask hopefully, she runs a hand through my hair.

"Bold of you to assume you don't have that position already, baby" Mama replies softly.

"Love you," I say.

"Love you too, more than you could imagine" Mama whispers.

"And love you too Mom," I say, Mom, smiles softly.

"Love you more Brooke"

Mama tells me how she proposed to Mom, We continue eating dinner then we watch a movie, I rest my head on Mom's shoulder, she starts stroking my hair, I get sleepy and briefly close my eyes, Mama gets up and goes for some snack.

I feel myself drifting asleep. "Hey, Mom..."

"Yes, sweetie?"

"Thank you for being part of our family" I mumble, I see Mom smiling widely.
