As rantaro walked throughout the halls to the clubroom his mind started to wander to the previous day 'Yesterday....kokichi seemed pretty concerned about kaito's well being...then again it's natural for a leader to be concerned about their....uh what did he call us again....recrutes isn't it?' He stared at his feet. He would be lying if he said he wasn't worried about kaito too....he opened the door and immediately turned his attention to the manga reader who was sitting on the floor reading like usual

He crouched down next to him with a gentle smile "hey....kaito was it?" The boy looked up from his book like no one talked to him in weeks (which was partially true) "uh...yeah what's up" Rantaro gestured towards the door before standing up. Kaito sighed before standing up and walking out of the clubroom. Rantaro glanced at kokichi who mouthed a "thank you" At him. Rantaro nodded in response before following kaito outside.

"So....why did you tell me to come out here? If you want to talk about something could you make it quick? I was in the middle of something" "Of course....." Rantaro scratched the back of his neck, unsure of how to start the conversation. Now that he thought about it would it be rude to ask why kaito was so quiet?....the last thing he wanted to come off as was rude....before he knew it a hand was waving in front of his face, snapping rantaro out of his train of thought "hey uh....you alright?" "Huh? Oh um y-yeah I guess I just....spaced out a bit" Rantaro laughed nervously before deciding he would just ask and explain himself if necessary

"But uhm....why are you so quiet?" "What do you mean"
"You haven't said a word in like a week"
"Has it been that long already?"Rantaro heard him mumble "sorry about that...i just got to a really interesting part in the manga i was reading" Rantaro paused for a minute before saying "why do you even bother coming to the club....not like I dont want to you be there or anything it's just....you know you can read at home right?" Kaito sighed as he gave rantaro a look that said 'you don't get it' "it's not about that....since we're in different classes i don't get to see you guys often so I'll take any chance I get to see you guys more" Rantaro nodded

"That makes sense uh...sorry for bothering you" "It's alright" Then they walked back into the clubroom together. Kokichi immediately called rantaro to him "what did he say" "He's just really invested into the manga he's reading" Rantaro explained. The club leader puffed a cheek "hmph....theres no way that's it....something else has to be going on here" He said more to himself then the greenette standing in front of him "but thanks for asking I appreciate it" "No problem....but don't think about making me your errand boy" Kokichi looked mildly disappointed "I would never" Kokichi said as he discarded an idea in his head
