HOLDING CELL – JUNGKOOK POV
The guards had gone to fetch the Queen. The pack had finally caught two rogues, one being the renegade we had been trying to capture since the day Jimin arrived. We had tied him securely to a chair, surrounded by spotlights, the room bare except for the cage in the corner. I glanced at the corner, hoping we would not have to use it. He followed my gaze then cocked his head as he looked back at me.
His capture had almost seemed too easy. The fact that I demand his capture and within a few hours here he sat was making me ill at ease. The collar and leash were tight and we had shackled him tightly. As of yet, he had refused to shift back to human form. Interrogating a wolf was nearly impossible, so we will have to force a shift.
The Queen had requested that she see each rogue captured. Avoiding our usual laws of destroying any trespassers without question was making us weak, so I hoped that we found the rogue she was looking for soon.
She came into the room, holding her robes high to prevent them from touching the dusty and dirty floors. She looked at the hostage and stopped dead in her tracks.
Queen: 'You are here.'
I felt a sense of relief knowing that we could do as we wished with the other rogues. We finally had the one she was looking for. She whispered something to her attendant and stepped forward, coming incredibly close to him. I put out a hand to protect her, but she shooed me away.
Queen: 'It is fine, Alpha.'
She used my title making me think that she still wished to keep some semblance of authority in the room. She wasn't completely relaxed with him as she appeared.
Queen: 'Ahhh...you have one of your mother's eyes and one of your father's. Are you sure you wish to stay in this form?'
The wolf looked between her and me, not giving any indication of shifting.
Queen: 'Jiwoon?'
The wolf's head whipped around to stare at her, his ears perked up and attentive. She knew him? The Queen unfastened her cape and settled onto her knees, her robes fanning out around her and protecting her from the floor.
There was a cracking of joints as the wolf shifted, becoming a young man. The Queen handed me her cape and I tossed it over him. He glanced up at me and growled, still wild and angry in his human form.
Queen: 'Get him a drink of water.'
The pack members around the room looked at me for permission. I nodded and one went to grab him a bottle of water.
It was placed next to him, but he just stared at it warily, unsure as to whether we had messed with it or not.
He was handsome, longer tousled hair, the same black color as his wolf's coat, fell around his ears and along his neck. His eyes had not change. One was still the bright blue and one chocolate brown as they gazed uneasily around the room. They widened as the door opened and Jimin stepped through.
My stomach lurched with the need to protect Jimin from the danger, any danger, and I sensed some from this man. I watched as Jimin stopped up short upon seeing the hostage. When I turned back, the chained man had already turned his back to the room, hiding under the cape.
The Queen waved her hand, indicating that Jimin should come sit by her. 'Jimin, this is Jiwoon.'
Jimin stared in stunned silence.
Jimin: 'Skye says you are my brother?'
The head under the cape nods. I look back and forth between them. There is a similar beauty between them, but where Jimin is light, his brother is dark. Jiwoon's skin showed the time he spent out in the sun and the years as a wolf in the woods, where Jimin has been a Prince and kept inside and protected.
