It's almost party time and I told Sunny I was coming over to pick her and Summer up to go over to my mom's for a dinner.
"So what are we going to be eating?" Sunny asked after we got her in Trace's truck.
"Umm, mom wanted to have a little something and meet Summer. She keeps asking me about pictures." I laugh.
We pull up and Trace comes out and helps. He grabs the baby carrier and smiled at Sunny. "I figured I should carry my goddaughter in."
"Oh Trace you look good with a baby." Sunny smiles.
"Don't put that in his head Sunny!" I laugh as we head inside and Sunny goes first. When the door opened Mom and everyone else said surprise!
"What is this?" Sunny asked confused looking at me.
"It's your baby shower! I know it's late but we wanted to do this for you!" I smile at her.
"Oh, you guys!" Sunny wipes her eyes.
I introduce her to everyone and mom was already holding Summer.
"I can't believe you did this for me, Morgan," Sunny said.
"You are a great friend Sunny and I wanted to do this for you and Summer. Wait until you taste the cake." I laugh.
I sit beside Jessa and she was holding Summer. "God she's gorgeous!" She smiled.
"She is most definitely a beautiful baby. I'm happy I'm her godmother." I smiled.
Dad and Trace crashed the party and it wasn't long until Ethan and DJ and Des joined in on the party. I even saw Trace holding Summer at one point.
He looked like a natural but my ovaries didn't shake or whatever it is women say. I'm too young to be tied down to a baby.
Trace walked over to hand Summer to Sunny and sit down beside me and kissed the side of my head.
"Your dad wanted to crash the shower so he could get some cookie cake from Remi." He laughed.
"Oh, I would believe that. Remi has been spoiling all of us for years with her cookies and cakes. Did you get some?" I asked.
"No, not yet I wanted to bring Summer over to her momma." He grinned.
"Well then hurry and go get you a piece. You will love it." I smiled at him.
He leaned over and kissed me and walked off. I looked over and DJ was sitting beside Sunny talking to Summer.
I ask Sunny if I could take Summer over to Carly while they talked and I smirked at her.
I snuggled Summer close to me and walked over to Carly. "I thought maybe you would like to hold her again." I smiled.
"Of course! I love babies but I didn't want to hog her. "I would like grandchildren someday." She smiled.
"Oh, you are barking up the wrong tree. I'm too young to destroy this body." I laugh looking over at Jessa... "Guess she means you?"
"Oh, no way! I am too young as well and I don't want no kid plus I don't even have a man so that would be kinda hard." Jessa laughed.
"Oh, Jessa! You don't need a man to have a baby." Carly said looking at both of us.
Trace walked over and put his hands on my shoulders. "Are you guys ready to open her gifts?"
"I don't think she even knows that there are gifts," I said walking over to my mom and asking if she's ready to open gifts.
While Carly has Summer in her arms I walk over to Sunny and pull her up to her feet... "So this is your baby shower and there are no showers without gifts. So if you will come sit in one of these chairs with me we are going to see what you got." I said.
"Oh wow the party in itself is enough Morgan!" She said.
"No it's not everyone needs things and well we know Summer needs stuff and we just wanted to help." I smile at her.
Mom snaps her fingers to get everyone's attention. "It's time to open gifts so hush your traps and let's see what she got." She said.
"Your mom is a badass and I love her." Sunny giggled.
My mom really went overboard on gifts but I knew Sunny needed all of this stuff. She cried and thanked us over and over again.
A couple of hours later the party was pretty much over and Trace and DJ carried all of Sunny's new things out to his truck and took it over to her house.
When they come back Sunny was ready to get Summer home to sleep. So we all packed up in the truck with Carly and Jessa and dropped them off first and then took Sunny and Summer home.
"Let us know if you can't get any of this stuff put together and we will come back and do it." Trace said.
"I appreciate it, you guys. My dad probably can do it but I have to find places to put all this stuff. I'm just so overwhelmed by all of your kindness." Sunny smiled.
"You are very welcome. We are glad that we could help you Sunny." I smiled and hugged her.
"Bye guys and thanks again!" She smiled as we left.
Once back in the truck Trace reaches his hand over for mine. "I think she was shocked at the shower don't you?"
"Oh for sure I'm glad we could do it and that cookie cake was the best. What did you think?" I ask.
"Oh man, that was really good. When my birthday comes along do I get one of those cakes?" He laughed.
"If that's what you want then yes. I have been getting those cakes for the last twenty some years and I always look forward to them." I said.
"Then yes I want one for my birthday which is coming up in a couple of months." He said.
We pulled in at the apartment and went inside holding hands.
