The wind kissed my face as I ran to dodging the branches and skipping the rocks which could slow down my speed, I felt independent and running in the forest was my favourite things to do. The calmness of the forest, the humming of the birds calmed me down, soon my little bubble of thoughts was broken by my two idiotic best friends or my beta and gamma running behind me growling at each other. I bet they were arguing in their mind link I rolled my eyes at them smiling slightly as I increased my pace reaching the borders soon. I examined the surrounding for any possible threats lingering near my pack borders but found none. Shortly I was joined by my friends who had shifted in their human forms.
" You cheated, that's why you are second " accused my Gamma, Keith huffing and crossing his arms across his chest like a child.
" And how did I cheat Keithy?" asked my Beta Accalia with a smirk and one eyebrow lifted. She always loved annoying Keith by calling him nicknames which he hates.
" Accalia," Keith said in warning their argument on cheating long forgotten.
" What Keithy," She asked innocently looking at him and before they end fighting I decided to put a full stop even though I would have loved to see them argue and fight with a bowl of popcorn. Before I could interrupt I heard footsteps in our direction I turn towards the sound to find two of our warriors who are assigned for patrolling the border emerge from the trees in their human form.
" Alpha " they acknowledge in respect to which I nod urging them to continue.
" Your father has asked for your presence in the packhouse along with your Beta and Gamma " Seth informed me to which I raised an eyebrow turning towards Accalia and Keith who nodded their head simultaneously, since I can't mindlink most of the things are informed to me in person.I am always amused to see them coordinate and behave themselves in front of the pack while they can't stop arguing when alone.
" Alpha Sebastian just mind linked us " Accalia announced but I didn't miss the look both of them exchanged of course they were busy arguing to listen I mentally rolled my eyes.
" Thank you for informing us Seth you can continue with you duty and sorry for causing inconvenience " I said with a straight face and I dint miss the slight grimace from both of my friends at my apology.
" It's fine, Alpha please don't apologise, I'll be taking my leave know " Seth said and shifted into his wolf and disappeared in the forest along with Daniel another warrior who was in his wolf form.
" Let's go guys," I said to my friends but dint hear them following so I turned back to look at them and frowned to find them on the spot they stood.
" What's the matter? " I asked confused at their behaviour.
" Alpha we are sorry for being careless and you had to apologise for our careless " Accalia and Keith my sweet best friends said together causing me to chuckle softly, which made them look at me from the soil with a raised eyebrow well only Accalia and Keith looked curious to why I was chuckling since my Gamma cannot raise his eyebrow for a living.
" From when did caly and eithy apologise to me and call me Alpha " I inquired with a raised eyebrow only caly, Keith and my dad were allowed to call me by name ,which earned a groan from Keith for both calling him either and raised an eyebrow.
"You are not angry with us? " inquired caly to which I shook my head as a no and both of them sighed in relief and smiled but I dint miss the look of mischief in caly's eyes.
" Eithyyyyyyyy, catch me if you can " caly sang as she bolted for a ran shifting followed by a growling Keith I shook my head at their childish behaviour and took off running running in my human form.
I'm Celimine, The first human Alpha in the entire world, I'm an wolfless Alpha known for her cold demour, I had to work extra hard to be in the position I'm now, I couldn't have done it without the support from my dad, my two stupid friends and my family my pack. I smiled at the thought of my pack who loved me dearly as though I'm their own daughter rather then their alpha I'm glad to have such amazing family my pack. I had to prove myself and my worth to the royal council that I was worth being an alpha with or without a wolf. I am not a complete human not a complete werewolf I lie in between the two creatures meaning I'm the first person to be the way I'm, my dad says it's because I'm different and different is what brings a change. My dad, my hero, my inspiration without him I'm no one .
I lost the two most important people in my life before I got the chance to meet them on the same day, the same cause and because of the same person whoever it was, My wolf and My mother, cause was wolfsbane if was enough to kill my wolf and mom but not my human side and hence I was saved. I greet my teeth to control the anger bubbling in me thinking about the person behind all my lose, whom we are yet to find 17 years and that person is roaming around freely I closed my eyes to calm myself down as we neared the packhouse I din't want my dad to worry. In two days I would turn 18 and officially become the Alpha I would search those people and kill them myself. I slowed down when the packhouse came into my view, both my friends were waiting for me well more like arguing again.
I made my way into the house passing the living room towards the study room where my dad wanted us, my friends following closely. Standing in front of the door I raised my hand to knock lightly. As faint ' come in ' was heard pushing the door further I entered my dad's study where he sat behind huge table light glowing throughout the room, the large windows behind him giving a view of our large backyard, couches lie at my right with a small kitchen counter on my left, large bookshelves beside the window filled with my mom's collection of her favourite books. My dad was a strong man, even after losing his mate, his love, my mom he didn't go ballistic as I read in school when a mate loses his or her mate they go ballistic unable to control their agony. My dad stayed strong for his pack, for his daughter, he dint disappoint neither of them he is the best alpha and a father.
" We were informed you were looking for us dad? " I questioned my dad who smiled looking at me nodding his head.
" Indeed, sweetheart I wanted to discuss few things regarding the celebration, as you being the new alpha," he said making his way towards me and pecking my forehead I smiled at him as I hugged my dad, my comfort. I only show my emotions to my dad and my friends who know I'm capable of laughing, crying, whining other than my signature blank look and cold demeanour.
" let's take a sit and ill tell you guys," my dad said as he was down hugging Caly and patting Keith on his shoulder. We moved towards the couches sitting comfortably.
" I got a call from Royal Council early this morning, they wanted to inform me that they'll be arriving for the celebration and the King might also visit," Dad told
" Why would the Royal Council and the King himself arrive they never attend any of their pack celebrations why ours? " Caly asked confused with my dad's announcement.
" Because they want to one last time make sure I am worth it" I answered before my dad could nod in agreement.
" How many times must you prove them," Keith said annoyed
" Till they are satisfied with their decision of allowing a female to lead a Pack, they are extra careful because I'm the first female Alpha in werewolf history," I told starting at Keith who huffed.
" Not only the Royal Council and the King will be attending but the Alpha from around the world will also be attending" my dad informed
" We never invited the Alpha's around the world, only the Alpha's from neighbouring packs are invited," Keith said confused with this new piece of information.
" Royal Council " I announced huffing
" But why the Alpha's all over the world? " Caly asked
" Since we are going to have first-ever female Alpha, few Alpha's have challenged us and if Celimine loses they'll have the pack and if she wins she can have that particular alpha's pack" dad explained smirking at us while both my friends snorted in response.
" I can't wait to see their faces when Lili proves them wrong " Keith striking at me
" You've proved yourself so many time and we are sure you'll win this challenge as well Lili," Caly told to which I smiled looking at her then to Keith who smiled reassuring me.
" I want you to remember that we know what you are capable of, the pack couldn't get a better alpha than you, and we are proud to call you our Alpha, sweetheart remember that," my dad said before we leave him in his study and walk towards the training ground.
" Finally, Lili will be turning 18 in two days and our Alpha I can't wait" Caly spoke happily as she takes my hand and swings along with her, I laughed seeing her happy.
" And you guys are gonna be my Beta and Gamma," I told her laughing as we walked towards the training ground.
" We will be adults soon, we will have responsibilities and pack to run " Keith as he took my free hand and intertwined with his, it appeared as a child walking along with both of its parents holding their hands.
" You guys will be great Beta and Gamma," I told sensing Keith's nervousness, as I squeezed both of their hands smiling softly. As we grew together our friendship grew stronger, I let my guards down with these two, I could be myself, just Celimine not an Alpha but their friend.
" Of course we will make a great team together and protect our pack, we have you as our Alpha we have nothing to be nervous of," said caly looking at me and then Keith. I realised we were in front of the pack's training ground which was huge surrounded by trees from all the sides.
" It's time for training, my beta and gamma, so who is gonna fight me first," I asked smiling sweetly, their eyes widened before caly made the excuse of having to train the pups and excused herself, I turned towards Keith who opened and closed his mouth like a fish.
" You can use me as a punching bag " he mumbled sighing, drama queen I rolled my eyes playfully at him.
" Don't be a baby Eithy, be a man and fight," caly told from where she stood, few snickered at her comment due to werewolf hearing but one glare from Keith made them shut up and get back to the routine workout.
" Just wait till I catch hold of you " Keith gritted out glaring playfully at caly who raised her eyebrow making him groan in annoyance.
" Let's go, Keith and Accalia get ready to fight me next" I called who huffed followed by a grinning Keith.
