With Mariana and Clem's plans put on temporary hold the group set out to find Richmond, but not after taking a small break to scream at each other.
Francine had started to cough up blood and Eleanor had put a time limit on her life. Conrad has since been on the rails screaming at Tripp for letting Clem step into their community in the first place.
Clementine hadn't caught a word they were saying, but she knew the conversation was about her. She had pulled the trigger after all, and Conrad's grief stricken face along with the accusing finger pointed directly at her...it didn't take much to realize what was going on between the two.
In retrospect had she known that Mariana said "Don't Shoot" as opposed to "Shoot" she was certain they wouldn't be in this current predicament.
But then Mariana would be gone, and she'd rather have these twisted turns of events than have the one person she had opened up to be taken to that hellhole.
It was selfish, and she knew it...but she didn't care.
"We told you she'd bring trouble! Now look!" Conrad pointed to his wife barely conscious as Elenor worked on buying her some time.
Mariana shook her head. "It wasn't Clem's fault. The bastards were coming anyway! We ran into them on the road..."
Conrad turned his attention to her. "You didn't think that'd be something worth mentioning before?"
The girl's words shook as she spoke more. "They killed my brother and we killed their people. If anyone's to blame here it's me..." She glanced at Clem for a split second before eyeing Conrad.
"Back. Off."
Her hand gripped Clem's as she continued sticking up for her. Granite had just met Clem, but even so the girl had agreed to help her on a mission she was sure others wouldn't have.
She was okay in her book.
"Instead of arguing like immature children we need to be heading toward Richmond! Francine doesn't have long."
Mariana words cut deep in the older man. He shoved past Tripp taking his gun from his holster, pointing it dead at Clem.
This had been the second time, and Clem wouldn't let him get more chances before she blew his brains across the pavement.
Cocoa hissed harshly from beside her as Clem reached for her own gun, her eyes dead trained on the barrel in front of her.
"This is her fault. She's a liability Tripp and you know it!"
"Conrad put the gun down!" Tripp boomed no doubt alerting nearby walkers with his loud voice.
Clem still had yet to pull her pistol out but Mariana knew when she did, Conrad would be dead in seconds.
Kill him before he kills you.
"Get your boy under control!" Mariana said as she pulled her knife from its sheath.
"Never bring a knife to a gun fight girl."
Mariana sneered, "You underestimate me." Sure enough a gun versus a knife the gun would usually win. But Mariana knew she was quick.
When she struck it would be precise and fatal.
Clem said not a word, nor did she sign. Her head tilted to the side catching a glimpse into the eyes of a grieving man. Still even though she knew he was in pain at the potential thought of losing the one thing he had left, she knew if she had to...she'd kill him.
And there would be no remorse on her end.
Wait for the right moment...
Tripp grabbed Conrad by the shoulders tugging the man backwards. "Use your Goddamn brain Conrad! Put the gun down! Think of Francine, she's a kid!"
