Clem woke to a strange feeling.
There was a pressure on her chest, but not like when Cocoa plants her furry body on her, it was heavier, more frantic. She panicked jumping up from her sleep in pure fear. Her hand came out in front of her gripping the throat of whoever was on top of her, while her other hand swiftly ran under her pillow grabbing her knife before raising it to the their head ready to pierce their skull.
Until she saw a frightful Mariana staring up at her with her hands raised in fear gasping for air. She let the girl go, her mouth agape in shock before that shock turned into frustration.
"Don't do that! You have a death with or something!?"
She tossed her knife over to the side reaching for Cocoa who gladly allowed the frantic girl to hold her close. Her heart was drumming hard in her chest as she snuggled her pet close to her.
"S-Sorry, I was just trying to wake you up. I thought you'd be a heavy sleeper or something."
"Well I'm not!" She was angry that much was evident by the seemingly permanent scowl on her face. Mariana gripped her neck still coming down from her brush with near death. She was startled, shaken but who wouldn't be in that type of situation.
Clem held onto Cocoa her anxiety easing up enough for her hands to stop shaking but her heart was still beating drums in her chest. Mariana had scared the shit out of her, she thought that maybe one of those psychos that knew of her bounty had grabbed her and even worse a walker made it's way into the town.
Either way in her mind she was fucked for a moment.
"I'm sorry..." She trailed off setting Cocoa on her lap. "I have a thing about... " Being on the road after Wellington was hell, something that she had to deal with whether she liked it or not. She was beyond paranoid, scared shitless endless hours of the day. At any moment a bullet could come close to taking her life, an arrow could pierce her eye socket, a knife could slice her throat in her sleep. If she didn't need it to survive Clem was sure she'd refuse sleeping all together.
Mariana nodded calming herself down as well. "Noted."
"What did you want?" Clementine glanced over to her wall where a functional clock sat telling her that it was way too early in the morning to be abruptly woken up out of her sleep for no reason. She rubbed her eyes kicking her legs over her bed.
"I need to find my brother and I know we were going to wait for the herd but that is way too long for me." She was starting to get restless, hell the girl could barely sleep the night before. Her thoughts were too busy running around in her head making her feel like shit for even enjoying luxury when her brother was stuck in a junkyard and God knows what was happening to Javier.
Clem sighed glancing toward her bedroom window, the sun hadn't even risen yet. People were sleeping and there was no way in hell she was getting Tripp's permission to leave. "We can't, I can try to get Trip to go with us later when the sun comes up...?" Quite frankly the last thing Clem wanted was to be surrounded in a herd full of walkers, though she had done it before it was too risky and she still had no clue just how big it was.
