You ready for some Duck action?
🕊 🕊 🕊
Duck made his way to Javier, who was still confined where he had last seen him.
He opened the rusted door making his way toward the man.
"What now? What happened?" His voice was hoarse with what Duck assumed was from thirst.
"I'm getting you out of here." He held the keys out for Javi to see. "But before I do I need you to listen to me."
Javi sat up against the wall, brows furrowed as he motioned for Duck to continue speaking.
"I have Mariana, she's safe. She was led here by my people, along with a group of others. I know where they all are, and they're safe for now, but that could all change. I need to move fast."
"Wait, they found her?"
Duck shook his head. "I don't know for sure, it's a lot." He looked toward the door listening for any approaching steps, when he heard none he continued. . "I can't explain it all now but we need to get moving before one of these guards comes back from break."
He unchained the man's wrists from the rusted metal cuffs.
Javi rubbed his wrists. It felt good to be free after being confined for so long. "I'll take you to my apartment, you'll wait there until I can get the others."
Javi followed Duck closely behind hoping that the boy wasn't leading him to his death in some way. "How many people is it?"
"Six total. She traveled with them, one has been taken, Clementine-"
"Well shit-"
Duck nodded, leading Javi out of the building through a back exit. "Yeah, and I need to get to her. I promised her protection and I intend to follow through with that promise. For her and Mariana." Duck glanced back at Javier.
Javier smiled, "Let's get this going then."
After successfully freeing Javi they made it to his apartment using the cover of the night to aid them.
"Lay low here. Don't answer the door for anyone. I have the key, there's food for you, water and a shower. I need to go get the others."
Before Javier could say anything more Duck was already shutting the door to his apartment. He was gone as quick as he came.
They were working off borrowed time and Duck didn't want to waste any second of it. He wouldn't fail, not this time.

He walked through the streets of Richmond, gun placed firm in hand. The scowl he usually wore in his face did well in making sure none of the passers by messed with him. He didn't take pride in the fact that some of the members of the community were scared of him, but it worked to his benefit sometimes.
However with how crazy the people of his status were he wasn't surprised that people were scared of them, he used to be as well.
He stopped by the clinic waving at their new established nurse. "Eleanor, long time no see!" He walked in with a smile on his face, though it didn't take much to realize it was fake.
"Need something?" Eleanor asked, her eyebrow raised in amusement. She had just put Francine to sleep, the same woman he had in his truck the day she was shot. It was nice knowing she wasn't dead.
"How'd you know?"
Eleanor chuckled, "That smile of yours is a bit off putting when it's not genuine."
