With a shake of his head, Taehyung politely declined.
"Tae you need to eat," Jin sighed, "How about an omelet?"
"I don't like eggs, Hyung."
(A/N: eggs do be nasty af)
"I promise you'll like it?" Jin tried. He and Taehyung had woken up at relatively the same time, around 7am. The others were still fast asleep, something Jin didn't want to change until food was almost ready.
"I'm okay, really." The excuse came out of his mouth like muscle memory. It might have been, at that point.
"An apple then? Something Tae, please."
The younger's shoulders dropped in defeat, "An apple." He knew he wouldn't get away with eating nothing, it was better to just get it over with.
Jin clapped excitedly and with a bright grin. He rushed to the fridge and pulled out a red delicious, Tae's favorite.
Taehyung took it with a sigh, "Thanks," he twisted it in his hands and stared, almost angry. As far as apples go, it was relatively perfect. No bruising, marks, and it was normal size. But it was so unappetizing, just as all food was now. Food was merely sustenance that he didn't want, but ate to keep his friends happy.
"No problem! You eat that while I start on breakfast for the others, okay?"
He nodded. He took a bite of the apple and almost winced as it hit his stomach. His stomach would protest later. A few bites after Jin's back had turned, and he put his basketball skills to good use. He waited until Jin had started humming to himself to aim and throw the apple, which he had taken less then 5 bites of, at the garbage bin by the entrance of the kitchen.
He cheered silently to himself when it landed perfectly on a crushed up paper plate, dulling the thud and reducing it to a faint noise that was easily covered by Jin's humming turned singing.
"Taehyungie? Can you-oh."
Taehyung froze. Jin wouldn't be happy if he found out he threw the apple away.
"You must have been starving to finish it that fast!"
He breathed out in relief. He nodded with a pout, to make it seem extra convincing, "I didn't realize how hungry I was."
"My poor baby," He didn't protest when Jin started pinching his cheeks. He let it happen, "Can you go wake the others? Food is only like 3 minutes from being done."
"Sure."
He trailed to his room slowly, dragging his feet along the way. He had significantly less energy then usual, which was almost impressive, as he didn't have energy to begin with.
"Hey," He kept his voice level, unable to raise it higher then that. When it didn't work, he went over and kicked the bodies that were still on his bedroom floor. They had all, they being Namjoon, Jin, and Jungkook, insisted to stay with Taehyung, even when the smallest had said he wouldn't let them in his bed. Hoseok had refused to sleep on the floor, something Taehyung couldn't blame him for.
"Ow motherfucker," Namjoon swore, "Wha-Oh. Good morning Tae."
His voice was groggy with sleep, and he hadn't seemed to notice the second body that clung to him like glue.
"Morning. Wake Jungkook up. Breakfast." He said simply. Namjoon nodded, and that was enough of an answer for him.
He left easily after Namjoon had begun gently shaking the youngest, placing delicate kisses all over his head.
He hated himself for how envious he was.
"Hyung?" He mumbled, slipping in the guest room, "Hoseok Hyung?"
As a light sleeper, Hoseok woke up easily. He groaned and stretched his arms above his head, "Tae? Oh hey. Mornin'"
"Morning," Taehyung fiddled with his fingers for a minute, before shaking his head, "U-Um. Breakfast."
He turned to leave, but was interrupted by Hoseok's deeper morning voice, "Woah woah woah. Somethings clearly wrong. Talk to me Taehyungie, what's on your mind?"
He hesitated.
"Come on Taehyungie, it's just me."
Taehyung sighed. He shuffled over to the guest bed slowly, before he fell into Hoseok's open arms, "I hate it."
"Hate what?"
It was easy, with Hoseok. He just radiated comfort, someone who you could pour your heart out to and not regret it later. "This...feeling. It's so stupid and I hate it and I hate myself and why couldn't I have fucking died w-"
"Hey hey," Hoseok's voice was level, but Taehyung knew his Hyung better then that, "What feeling?"
"Jealousy. Envy. Whatever the fuck it is. I hate it I wish it would go away," He fought the tears that tried to surface, this time, successfully, "I shouldn't feel like this. Namjoon and Jin and Jungkook are happy and there's no fucking reason that I should want....I want...." he sniffled. Maybe the fight hadn't been won, "Hyung I want him, w-why isn't h-he he-here with me?"
Hoseok pulled Taehyung closer and rocked him back and forth, "It's okay Taehyung. To feel that way. You can't help how you feel. And to be envious of love, when you've lost yours, I see nothing wrong with that."
"I d-don't wanna be like th-this anymore Hyung." Taehyung sobbed.
"Like what?"
"L-Lonely. Hel-pless." He hiccuped.
"I might not fully understand. But I understand lonely. Helpless."
Taehyung lifted his head slightly, looking at his Hyung with disbelieving eyes. Hoseok was surrounded by people constantly, how was it that he was lonely?
"I've never been loved before Taehyungie. Well, not romantically," Hoseok ran his hands through the younger's hair, "and after a while...it's a little lonely. Especially when you're surrounded by couples. I'm sure you understand."
Taehyung was quiet. He let his head rest on Hoseok's chest.
"We c-can be lonely together Hyung."
The elder laughed, a bit watery, "That sounds like it won't end well Taehyung."
"It's okay Hyung. I'll only ever love him." Taehyung played with the end of the taller's shirt, sleepy again.
Hoseok nodded slowly, "Okay...lonely together."
"Lonely together."
