"Woah, Hyung! Your place is huge! I don't know of any police offers who've got houses this big."
Yoongi chuckled, looking up at his 3 story (not including the basement) house, "That's because I didn't buy this, I got this when my dad died. And because I live alone, bills are relatively cheap and easy to maintain."
"Oh, sorry about your dad."
"I'm not. He was an ass."
Yoongi gently grabbed Taehyung'a forearm and led him inside, occasionally laughing at the younger's very apparent gawking.
"It's just a house, Taehyung-ah."
Taehyung scoffed, "'Just a house' my ass. This is like 3 times the size of Ji-my house, and i thought that was huge."
Yoongi hummed, and kept pulling him forward, "Well, get used to it. Your room's upstairs, I'll show you in a bit, but I'm hungry and I want food."
"I'm kind of hungry too, actually. Whatcha got?" He was kind of hungry, and it was a strange feeling to acknowledge it. It was stranger when Yoongi placed a bowl in front of him, and he ate it, all of it.
"Well damn," Yoongi said, slowly munching on what was in his own bowl, "If you were that hungry, why didn't you say something? I'd have gotten us something on the way here."
He cleared his throat and wiped his face with the paper napkin Yoongi had thrown at him earlier, "It's just really good, and we had an early lunch."
He avoided Yoongi's narrowed, suspicious eyes by grabbing his bowl and heading over to the sink. He almost snorted when he saw the small mountain of dishes in the sink, and began putting them in the dishwasher he noticed. He scrunched his nose when Yoongi's chair scraped against the floor, shortly following him starting he dishes.
"We did. Did you have breakfast this morning?"
Taehyung stiffened when Yoongi brushed past him to place the bowl in the sink.
"I had some water."
"That's not food, Taehyung-ah."
He ignored it, continuing to rinse the dishes (how could one person use so many dishes?) and arrange them so they all fit in the dishwasher.
"Why are you doing my dishes? And don't ignore me."
"I'm doing your dishes because you clearly aren't going to."
"Well stop it."
Taehyung turned to stick his tongue out at Yoongi, who scoffed playfully, "Oh really?"
"Yeah really. Whatcha gonna do, old man?"
Yoongi leaned over to the sink and got a handful of water quickly, leaving Taehyung no time to dodge the attack he knew was coming.
"No, Yoongi, no." He tried to back away, but he looked down at his now soaked shirt with his mouth dropped open. He stared at it for a second, before he looked back to Yoongi, "Oh, you're in deep shit now my friend."
Yoongi snorted as he dried his hands off on the towel hanging by the sink, "Yeah, right. Min Yoongi: 1, Kim Taehyung: 0. I'm winning."
"Oh now we're keeping score? Be prepared Hyung, you've started a war you won't win."
Yoongi flicked the younger's chin as he walked out of the kitchen, "Cute that you think so. Sleep with one eye open sweet cheeks."
"And we're at pet names now? It's so fucking on."
He smiled mischievously to himself when he heard Yoongi's laugh of clear disbelief from the living room, and picked up the towel Yoongi had so annoyingly left on the counter, when he should have hung it back up.
With slow steps, he made his way to the living room, towel in hand. He twisted it as tight as it would go, before he moved to block Yoongi's view of the TV and whacked him in the stomach, the snapping sound loud and clear.
Yoongi doubled over and gave him a nasty glare, wheezing slightly. It didn't hurt that bad, but the surprise factor definitely made it worse. That, and Taehyung apparently was very good at that stupid towel trick.
"1 to 1," Taehyung grinned, "Sleep with both eyes open honey."
He rushed to put the towel back, slightly worried Yoongi would follow. He cursed to himself when he remembered Yoongi had yet to show him his room, and peeked out the kitchen door with a sheepish smile, "Uh, hi Hyung. Um...where's my room."
Yoongi grumbled to himself as he got up, but waved the younger over and trudged up the stairs and went directly to the left.
Taehyung followed slowly, taking in the house. It was...it was sad, really.
There were no family pictures, or personal belongings scattered anywhere, like most peoples houses. Honestly, it didn't really look like anyone lived there, other then the dishes that had been piled up. There were only 2 coats hanging on the rack that was installed by the chairs, and only 3 art pieces that he had seen, total.
It was sad, and Taehyung made it his new mission to make this stupidly big house seem homey.
"You need to decorate better," He said to Yoongi, as the elder opened the door for him, "Holy shit, this cannot be my room."
"I do not, my decorations are fine, thank you very much. And yes, it is. Why, do you not like it?"
The room was huge, and mostly bare, save for the bed in the center (was it a California king? He had a queen back home) and the glass desk on the right wall. There were also bookshelves lining the walls to either side of the bed, but they were empty.
"I-Yoongi this is a gigantic room."
"Is it? I didn't notice."
"You didn't notice? Yoongi this is the size of my first apartment," Taehyung breathed, and it was true. When he was on his own (he hadn't been on his own for long, he had moved in with Jimin only a few months after they began dating), he had a 3 room apartment about 2 blocks from his University. 3 rooms being a bedroom, bathroom, and a kitchen/dining. Which was tiny as hell.
"Oh. Well. I hope it doesn't bother you? I don't-I don't have any smaller rooms I don't think. I think they're all the same size."
"It's not a problem, I just...holy shit," Taehyung laughed, "Thank you Hyung. It..it means a lot. I feel better, being here. I just...I don't feel safe at home, or alone."
"Well, I'm here, and you can stay here as long as you'd like," Yoongi's smile was soft, comforting, "think of it as a new home. Your home away from home, maybe."
"Yeah, home away from home," Taehyung smiled back.
"Have a good night Taehyung-ah," Yoongi gave him an awkward pat on the shoulder.
He rolled his eyes before he gave the elder a quick hug, "Good night Hyung."
