Bokuto and I have been walking for about 30 minutes now. He's a strange guy. Ever since I agreed to let him come to my place he's had a stupid grin on his face. I should have just left him alone in the rain. I wonder how Kuroo and Kenma are doing, and how they'd feel about me bringing a stranger home during the apocalypse.
"'Kaashiiiiiiiiiiiiii! Are we there yetttttttt?" Bokuto groaned, clearly tired.
"It's 'Akaashi'. And yeah, my apartment is just a couple of streets over; stop complaining." He groaned again but didn't say anything else until about a minute later,
"So, do you live alone?"
"Bokuto, it sounds like you're planning to murder me," I said, holding back a grin. His face flushed red and he began sputtering out words.
"What?! I- uh- I promise it's not like that! I would never kill anyone! I'm just trying to make small talk, you know? I mean you don't know me and I don't know you. I figured we could try to get to know each other at least a little bit or something. I don't know! I'm sorry!" Bokuto looked at the ground like a puppy who is being scolded. I kind of felt bad for messing with him.
"Bokuto I was just joking, sorry." He stopped panicking a little bit and looked back up from the ground. "And usually yes. But my two best friends moved in yesterday because of the whole end of the world thing."
"Oh, that's cool. No one wants to be alone at a time like this." He looked at me for some kind of reaction or reply, but I said nothing and continued to look forward. He cleared his throat, "So, uh, your friends; what are they like?" I thought for a second before answering.
"Hm... well, Kenma is the one with overgrown, dyed blonde hair with black roots. Kuroo is the taller one with black hair. Kenma will probably not like you at first, but I think Kuroo will be fine. I met them two years ago when I first moved here. Kenma and I met in our first year of college; we were in the same class." Bokuto hasn't cut in to say anything yet but I can tell he's been paying attention due to the look on his face. So, I continued. "Kenma and I ended up partnered together for some project and became friends. I met Kuroo through Kenma cause they have been friends since they were kids; he's a year older than us though."
For the first time in a couple of minutes, Bokuto spoke up, "Oh! So I'm the same age as Kuroo." He kind of looked proud of himself for being able to do that simple math in his head. I chuckled lightly.
"Yeah. Anyways, those two are together. If you have a problem with that then you can turn around now." I stopped walking and turned to face him. I had to make sure this guy wasn't a jerk before I let him in my house. I raised an eyebrow and waited for his response.
"Oh, no! Of course not. Why would I have a problem with it?" Bokuto turned his head quizzically.
"Okay. Good." And with that, I kept walking. We were only a couple of streets away now, and the realization is beginning to hit me. I'm bringing a total stranger home. In the middle of the night. I don't know what time it is, but it has to be like, 3 am by now. How will Kenma and Kuroo react? Will they even be awake? This would be something you would talk to your roommates about first, right? Well, I have no way of doing that so I'm just going to have to hope they don't mind. "What about you?"
"Hm?" He looked back over at me, confused.
"Did you live alone?"
"Well, no. I had a couple of roommates," He was probably in a frat or something. He looks like the type. "I don't have any family though..." I waited to see if he would continue, but he didn't. He seemed to notice I was waiting, "I don't really like talking about my past. I'm sorry." He looked back down with that stupid pout again.
