'Cause I can't help it if you look like an angel

Can't help it if I wanna kiss you in the rain, so...

It's raining cats and dogs outside her parents' home but she chose to position herself by the window, wrapped with her favorite throw blanket that she carry around wherever she goes. Silence surrounds her as her family has resigned to their respective rooms already, leaving her to resign in her own as well, now staring blankly at the rainwater dropping from above and listening quietly to its pitter-patter.

She hated the rain. When she was younger, she used to dive under her blanket on her bed whenever rain starts falling. She was skinny, so it's easy for her to catch colds and fever even though it was just a light drizzle and she hates it when she gets sick. Apart from this, her mom used to make the rain as an excuse to not throw a party for her birthday. Unfortunately for her -- that's what she thought when she was a kid -- her birthday falls during the rainy season, so it's the perfect excuse. She settled on glaring at the sky whenever it cries when she was just a kid.

As she grew and became an adult, she understood why her mom made that excuse but that didn't make her hate it any less, especially if it is accompanied with thunderclaps. She have been glaring at a rainy sky all her life until one day, she just stopped.

It was raining hard and she can't cross the street towards her management's building as she didn't bring any umbrella. Any minute now, her meeting with her manager will start and she can't get there dripping wet -- aside from this, she was scared to let the rain touch her as she shouldn't get sick during busy days like these. She, for the nth time that day, glared at the sky.

"What a bad day." She uttered.

She was about to go back inside the coffee shop she just exited when someone bumped into her.

"Oh, I'm so so sorry, miss. I didn't mean to." She was about to answer but it felt like someone stole her tongue the moment she saw the person in front of her.

"It's Sarah, right? I'm so sorry again. I was checking my feet and I didn't notice you."

Stammering, she replied. "It's okay, Sir. No worries."

The man smiled at him. "Just call me Bamboo. Do you want to go with me? I'm going across the street and I could share my umbrella with you."

All she could do was stare at her childhood crush, she's incapable of producing any sounds now. "It's okay, com'on. It's raing cats and dogs here."

Then he placed his arm around her shoulders as he pulled her closer to his warmth, she turned to look at him. He seemed determined to sheild her even from a single drop of rain from the raging sky. He smiled at her before tightening his hold around her and pulled her with him as they walked, crossing the busy street despite the heavy rain.

A small 'thank you' was all she could say once they've crossed the street which he replied 'it's no problem' to.

She smiled at the memory of their first meeting, that day may be rough to her, but at least she finally saw one of her role models in the industry for the first time that day and it was bittersweet.

Another rainy day crossed her mind. It was a Saturday afternoon and she was scheduled for a rehearsal for a Sunday noon-time show where she was a regular host but her driver and parents can't go with her this time so she just hailed a cab but it parked on the opposite road of where she was supposedly going.

She wanted to complain so much but another passenger have hailed it already so she had no choice but to go down. It was an important rehearsal for her and she can't miss it so despite the fear, she used her bag as a sheild and crossed the street towards the building, but only after she have glared so hard at the sky did she cross the street, trembling.
