"Here, three tickets."
A hand shoved three movie tickets an inch away from the Rockstar's face, but his view of the tickets was immediately replaced by the smiling face of none other than the Popstar Royalty.
"Hi." Sarah's bouncing with excitement in front of him, but his panicking mind is still focused on the number of tickets this Popstar bought. "Why did you buy three? Sarah, don't tell me your whatever is just around the corner, I'm telling you if that ticket is for— "
"Me." Somebody continued from behind his back, and the popstar nodded. "Yeah, it's for him."
Bamboo turned around, and it was his manager, Pancho. "Why, coach? Ayaw mong kasama si Kuya Pancho?"
The manager acted with feigned hurt. "Ouch, brad. Ginaganyan mo na ako, gusto mo kayo lang dalawa, makauwi na nga." Bamboo immediately stopped Pancho from walking away. "No, no, it's fine. I thought it was somebody else. I'm actually glad you're here, Pancho."
He looked at Sarah for help, and she just lifted her chin and mouthed, "what?" Bamboo quickly averted his eyes from Sarah to Pancho and then back to Sarah again, as if asking her for help with the pretending manager. Sarah just laughed as she held Pancho by the arm.
"Kung ayaw mo kasama si Kuya Pancho, Coach, eh di kami nalang dalawa. You can go home if you like." Bamboo's eyes widened. "What? No! When did I say that? I said it was fine, and why are you doing this to me?"
Sarah glared at Bamboo. "Psh, if it wasn't for Kuya Pancho, I wouldn't have the chance to drag you in here and fulfill your promise, you old man."
Bamboo gasped. "Who are you calling an old man, miss?" He was about to put his hands on his waist when he felt a sudden pinch on his side. "Ouch! Sarah?!" He looked at Sarah, who was now by his side, looking very satisfied with the violence she just granted him.
"Stop pretending as if you didn't forget the promise you gave me, old man."
"I did not."
"You did."
"I—," Bamboo wasn't able to finish his sentence when Pancho interrupted them. "So, dito talaga kayo mag-aaway? Sa isang sulok ng mall? Without even wearing your masks?"
"Relax, Panch. There aren't many people around. We're good." Bamboo said to his manager, but Pancho only raised one eyebrow. "Ah, so you're also good with the possibility of you two being in the headlines tomorrow?"
"Oops! Time to wear your mask, B." Sarah immediately grabbed the mask dangling from the holder around his neck and made him wear it. "Also, this." Then she grabbed the hat he is holding and placed it on his head before wearing her own mask and hat.
"Really? That disguise stinks." Pancho blurted.
Both of them glared at the manager, that made him raise his hands in surrender. "Fine, fine. Stop glaring, soulmates." The glare just got harder. "Alright, alright. Can we just go?" And with that, they headed towards the cinema.
"Can I sit there?" Sarah suddenly asked.
"No." Without looking at his side, Bamboo answered her.
"Why?"
"Because you chose to sit there."
"That's why I'm asking if we can exchange. I want to sit by the aisle, B. It's suffocating here."
This time, Bamboo turned to look at her. "You can't just choose something, Sarah, and then decide to drop it when the situation starts getting uncomfortable for you."
While Pancho could hear the hurt in Bamboo's voice, Sarah could clearly see it in his eyes. Before Sarah could answer, Pancho interrupted, as he didn't want this argument to get very emotional as the place was starting to get crowded.
