Bamboo is sitting on one of the couches in their living room, watching television. His wife is in their kitchen, he's not sure whether she's baking or she's just cleaning something. When he checked the date that morning, he knew -- disturbing the wife will be a very bad move of his today. So, he stayed as far as possible but only for a distance where he would still hear her if ever she calls for him. While watching, he was also checking and reading his emails that he didn't hear his wife who called for him. He was startled when he received a pinch on his side.
"Ouch! Babe, that hurts." He looked at his wife, perplexed. "Why? Do you need something?" He looked at how his wife's forehead creased. "Wala. Sige. I'll just go back to the kitchen." He looked at his wife, confused. She's usually bubbly during this time of the month, Bamboo said to himself.
Bamboo shook his head and decided to just message Ysa, asking her how their afternoon went. The kids -- Ysa, Luke, and Iris -- are with his in-laws in Charbel. The grandparents asked if the kids could stay with them for the weekend so he drove the kids to his in-laws' house that morning and returned to their home after lunch. Since then, Sarah didn't say a thing to him so he kept quiet and watched his wife move about the house until he received that pinch a while ago.
After checking his emails and messaging Ysa, he returned his attention to the television in time for the evening news. He was quietly watching when his wife, Sarah, sat beside him. "B?" He turned to look at his wife. "Yeah?"
Sarah bit her lip before looking at him again. "Aren't you going to say anything?" His wife looked at him in the eyes as if accusing him of forgetting about something important. He swore he didn't forget anything important today, he even knew the date so he's sure it's not something about that. "Hmm? What should I say, Love?" Sarah sighed and slumped her shoulders as she pouted.
"Nothing. What's on the news?" Sarah replied to him instead, diverting her attention towards the TV screen . "Oh, something about the shortage of water." Sarah nodded, disappointment is evident in her eyes. He was about to kiss her on the lips when she suddenly stood up. "May niluluto pa pala ako." Sarah told him then went back to the kitchen. Bamboo's eyes followed Sarah until she vanished from his sight.
When Bamboo noticed that it's already quarter to seven, he turned off the television and went to the kitchen to help his wife in preparing the table. However, a very silent Sarah is what he saw -- leaning on the kitchen counter.
"Hey Babe, let me help you prepare the table." He touched Sarah's shoulders but Sarah shrugged her shoulders and moved away from him. "What's wrong, Love?" Bamboo asked his wife, he's starting to get nervous now. He's certain he didn't do anything wrong today. "Are you tired?" He attempted to touch Sarah's arms again but she avoided his touch. Bamboo sighed. "Alright, why don't you sit down and I'll prepare the table. Okay?"
Sarah just looked at him with a blank expression. Confused, Bamboo went near his wife and offered a seat for her. "Here, Babe. I'll serve the food now." As he was about to touch her again, Sarah swatted his hand. "Don't touch me." Bamboo looked at Sarah wide-eyed. "What? Wait, what happened?" Despite being startled, Bamboo remained calm. Sarah just rolled her eyes then slammed her apron down the table. "Kumain ka mag-isa mo!" Then Sarah stomped her way out of the kitchen. Bamboo scratched his head and decided to follow his wife who is stomping her way towards their room.
"Babe! What happened? What's wrong?" He reached for Sarah's hand while they're going up the stairs but Sarah just pushed him away. "H'wag kang susunod Francisco at hindi ako natutuwa sa'yo." Bamboo stopped on his tracks. "What did I do now?" He asked in the air as he sighed.
He followed Sarah inside their room and saw her putting his essential items in his backpack. Bamboo's eyes grew wide. "Wait, Babe what are you doing?" He went near her and tried to stop her from pushing more of his things inside his bag. "Diba I told you not to follow me?"
