chapter 9

"honey, have you told your friends about the overseas treatment?" minho's mom asked him.

"actually, i haven't" minho quietly said.

"you should honey, specially to jisung. i know how close you guys are, you should tell them in advanced before it's too late. graduation is near the corner" his mom said.

"ok mom, i will" he smiled. then he grabbed his backpack and headed out, this time, he drove to school.

minho went to go meet his friends during lunch time, where they all sat in one table.

"so guys..."

"i'm leaving after we graduate" he blurted out. everyone, specially jisung, froze.

"b-babe, what do you mean leaving?" jisung's voice trembled.

"i'm continuing treatment in the states, since there's a better chance of me getting better there. but, i'll come back once i'm well!! i promise!!"

"but you said you were already getting better?" jisung furrowed his brows in confusion. had minho been lying to him about getting better?

minho took a glance at chan and changbin, he froze for awhile but then said, "i am, but i'll recover faster with better treatment!" he said, and gave jisung a reassuring squeeze on the hand.

jisung nodded and smiled, before laying his head on the other's chest. minho looked at chan and changbin with guilt in his eyes, for lying about his condition to jisung.

"well if it means you'll get better faster, do it babe!" jisung cheered.

it was finally gym class, the last class of today. they had a substitute teacher though, since the p.e teacher called in sick. it was a woman, she looked quite scary if i have to be honest.

"all of you, run 5 laps. now!!" she shouted and everybody quickly obliged. minho however, just stood there since he was excused from doing activities that would harm his health. he thought she knew that, but apparently, she didn't.

"you, kid, what the hell are you still doing here? RUN!" she shouted at the boy. "but i-" he was cut off.
"no buts! run now!" she yelled even louder, minho then started running out of fear.

his friends looked at him with the 'why the hell are you running' face. minho was on my 3rd lap when he suddenly felt really dizzy. too dizzy to continue running. before you know it, he fainted.

jisung ran up to his boyfriend the moment he saw him faint. "shit shit shit, he never should've ran" he carried minho to the nurses office, along with his bag where his medications are.

meanwhile, chan and changbin went up to the substitute teacher and shamelessly started yelling. "he has a heart disease! you didn't even let him explain! if anything bad happens to him, you're gonna pay!" chan yelled, making her freeze, and the other students look at them.

jisung immediately took out his nebulizer, put the medicine inside and put it on minho. minho however was not doing well. he wasn't responding to his nebulizer so jisung had no choice but to call an ambulance.

soon after, the ambulance finally came to pick up minho. jisung held his boyfriend's hand the whole ride to the hospital, whispering stuff like 'hang in there, i'm here' 'you can do this, i love you so much'.
it was truly a heartbreaking scene the nurses had to see.

once they arrived, jisung called minho's parents while they took him inside the e.r. they went to the school immediately and complained about the substitute teacher, then they made their way to the hospital.

"aunt, uncle, i'm sorry i couldn't protect him" jisung sobbed.

"this isn't your fault honey, it's the stupid p.e teacher's fault" his mom said, raging with the thought of the substitute teacher.

they were patiently waiting for minho when suddenly, his doctor came out. "mr. and mrs. lee, i'd like to talk to you in private please" and minho's parents stood up, and walked into the room where minho was.

jisung started to get really anxious since he didn't know what the fck was going on. he had no clue of what they were talking about. he didn't know if his boyfriend was okay.

after what felt like hours of waiting, minho's parents finally came out. jisung immediately noticed their puffy and red eyes from what seems to be crying? his heart dropped. why could have they been crying?

"aunt, is minho okay? are you okay?"

"yes dear, the doctor just told us that...minho is getting better" they said softly, almost like a whisper, almost like they're stopping something from coming out.

"oh my gosh that's great! i'm so happy!!" he said, receiving a motherly and fatherly  smile from minho's parents.

he slowly opened the door to minho's hospital room and saw him resting on the bed. he slowly approached him and took his hand, making the other face him.

"i'm sorry i scared you baby, i'm fine now" he smiled.

"i know that, i love you so so much minho"

"i love you so much more. i love you more than my life" he teared up.

"oh no why are you crying" jisung wiped the tear on minho's cheek.

"i'm just...happy" minho forced a smile.
