With a brief discussion between both sides, Kana-kaasan and Saeko quickly agreed to have Kotone go along with us on our small trip. Seemingly being invisible, I just stood on the corner listening to their discussion, making it very clear that I had no say in this.

I did tell them that it would be up to Saeko whether we would bring the kid along, but I at least wanted to be part of this, you know!

Almost like being psychic, the similarly silent Rei-kaasan met her eyes with mine, her eyes telegraphed,

'This, this is the topic we will never have a proper part in.'

Confused, I raised my eyebrows and signaled back, 'What are you even talking about?'

'Taking care of a child.' She signed with a sigh.

I didn't know whether I should laugh or be sad for her.

Being forcibly pushed out of the room, Kana-kaasan told me to take the day off. Instructing me to go wander around with Saeko and maybe have a home date, emphasizing why I shouldn't bury myself with work when Saeko is around.

With a nod, we headed down by the pond in the backyard.

Holding a small piece of bread in her hand, Saeko slowly tore it and threw the bits into the water for the fish to eat. The Koi fishes enthusiastically gathered around Saeko and happily ate the food. Seeing the fishes splash with excitement brought a smile to Saeko's face.

I crouched beside her watching her cutely smile at the spectacle, silently admiring her beautiful face.

Lifting my hand over to her face, I fixed a stray strand of her behind her ear, earning her attention.

With a smile, she passed me the torn bread. "Why don't you try, they're so cute."

I nodded, "Yes, yes you are."

Immediately noticing what I was referring to, Saeko's smile widened and hit me playfully, probably thinking I was an idiot and a dork. Even I was secretly feeling embarrassed by my words.

"Are you trying to be smooth here?" She laughed

"Well you are, and I just had to say that," I nodded smugly, but ineffectively hiding my embarrassment.

"Ehh~?"

There was a few moments of silence with Saeko staring at me with an expecting look. Perhaps waiting for me to crack at my own lines of affection. When there is a moment of silence after saying something, you think about what you just said, and slowly but surely it sinks into you.

". . . Khh-- Please, kill me."

With a burst of laughter, I covered my face with embarrassment, followed by a side-hug from the joyful Saeko.

"Aren't you adorable!" She giggled and teased, making my face even redder.

"Noooo~!"I wheezed, trying to struggle out of her grasp but to no avail, I couldn't.

My own wife continued to straddle and hug me as if I was her pet, patting my head and pinching my cheeks with joy. Her joyful smile and laugh continued to resonate throughout the backyard garden, perhaps even attracting the attention of some servants.

As much as I enjoy being hugged by Saeko, I too had my own limits of being treated like this.

Quickly untangling her arms, I stood up and tried fixing my messed-up hair.

"Alright, petting is over, no more teasing me, Sae!" I said, taking a breath.

"Ehh~" Saeko whined, albeit playfully, slowly standing up herself. "Since when did you start calling me, Sae?"

"Ghk--!"

"I'm sure it wasn't at home, since the only time you did was when you were teasing me. But to casually call me like that," Saeko briskly stepped closer to me, she dove into another hug and nearing her face to mine, she spoke, "Good girl, Sil-chan," and patted my head.

She patted my head. . .

Having her notice my sudden switch in addressing her is certainly embarrassing and having her suddenly call me by my childhood nickname is certainly more so. At this point, the embarrassment meter is already off the charts that I might as well die from it.

The fact that she teased me this much and closing into me without landing the finisher is a disappointment I shall not accept!

So. . .

Gathering the bits and pieces of non-embarrassment emotion I had left, I looked away and covered my eyes with my arms.

". .  Just,"

"Hm?"

"Just kiss me damn it!"

I didn't know what expression Saeko had just then, but she waited for a few moments then silently stood on her toes and gave me a quick kiss. Making no sound of teasing or encouragement, she just quietly sat back near the pond with an extremely bright red face.
