"I am terribly sorry for my daughter's lack of manners,"
Standing by the entrance door and held in an iron grip, Kaasan said in a monotonic voice as she forced my head down to bow to the old couple-- and only me and my head. I could practically feel a vein on my forehead twitching in irritation.
When my mother found me and dragged me back to where we were supposed to meet, it was almost sunset. I was already exhausted from the journey here and the lack of food in my stomach did nothing to aid my missing enthusiasm. Not to mention, I had to play with a bunch of kids, so my energy was at its lowest.
So I was down for the count and was ready for bed. Not to mention,
Whose fucking fault was it? I've never been here, you old hag.
"No, no, Yuuno-san it's fine. You're new to this place afterall," the old woman said with a smile.
I was surrounded by strangers, in a strange town, in a stranger's home, and am bowing to them in apology. What normal human wouldn't be tired just from this? I was beyond irritated. I was more than irritated, I'm starving and exhausted.
But absolutely disregarding my disturbed mental state, Rei-kaasan still kept my head lowered without even bowing hers.
"Ah, please don't think much about it Yuuno-san, it isn't much of a problem." The old lady smiled gently at my mother as she led us towards the hall, while the old man beside her was a shaking nervous wreck.
He must be terrified of Kaasan.
Despite my family's carefree attitude, we are one of the most prominent families here on the continent. Which is absolutely a fucking ridiculous and clichéd. This magnitude of influence was mostly due to Kana-kaasan striving to reach international scale with the family trade and succeeding with flying colors.
The family business started with my grandfather selling local goods such as different articles of clothing and high quality linen to customers around the city. It wasn't large per se, but we grew to be one of the most well-known. However, when Kana-kaasan took over, she started investing on a large scale, opening stores in different cities, then nearby countries, until spreading to the entire continent.
It took years, but it was made possible, and I was able to witness the growth and one of the busiest years of my parents.
However, having explained all that, I Rei-kaasan's background isn't what's causing the old man to be afraid-- but the sheer intimidating pressure she normally lets off.
Actually, It's a surprise how this old woman is so friendly with Rei-kaasan. I'm betting she must have had connections with them when they were newlywed with Kana-kaasan, as cliché asked me to assume.
Smiling gently at each other, kaasan's grip on my head finally started to loosen and I was able to raise my head slowly. I could still feel the pain, but at least the source of it has left. As I lifted my head, I saw a young woman right across me, about the same age as me looking at me with both a confused and curious face.
She had this long peachy orange hair braided delicately behind her back, making her look absolutely adorable. A few petals of sakura flowers decorated on her hair would make the most perfect of scene, one that would be needed to be captured permanently on a camera.
