Running as fast as she could, Rei's breathing heaved as she had been running for almost three hours straight into the forest. With her spare katana in hand, she cleaved the leaves and branches standing on her way from escape.
"SHE'S OVER HERE! CAPTURE HER!!" A shout erupted not far behind her.
Cursing under her breath, Rei jumped unto a tree branch and leaped from one branch to another. As to wonder why she is in such a predicament despite being betrothed to one of the most influential families there is, it was because she is betrothed to the most influential family there is.
Her fiance, Kana Yuuno, was naturally the most admired and eligible maiden in the country, however, it was all a lie.
She was a strange woman.
Doing whatever she pleased with the total approval of her parents.
And now she was having her own fiance chased after by her guards.
Why?
"Rei-dono! PLEASE COOPERATE WITH US AND SURRENDER!!" Glancing at the leader of the guards, Rei shouted exhaustedly,
"WHY ARE WE DOING THIS!?"
This the same exhaustion the Leader of the guards screamed miserably,
"WE DON'T KNOW!!"
He looked like he was about to cry.
It was exactly that, both parties were clueless on why they were doing this.
But what they both know, if the Ojou-sama didn't have her fill ( of the fun ) then Rei and the Leader of the guards would be in danger in more ways than one.
". . Ezu-san"
". . Rei-dono"
As if understanding each other's pain of serving/loving the same crazed woman, both warriors raised their hands in a salute --and continued their chase.
Rei ran for about another half an hour climbing, hiding, and turning whenever to lose Ezu-san from her tail. Just as she was able to escape Ezu's sight, Rei turned to an abrupt stop. She now needed to worry about Kana, who was coincidentally in front of her.
"My, don't you look exhausted, My dear." She said worriedly, but Rei knew better.
Taking a step back, Rei raised her katana and prepared to run for it. Fighting wasn't an option by this point. Rei had been running around the forest for quite some time already that she didn't know where she was.
Seeing Kana sitting there pleasantly sipping her tea in the middle of nowhere, simply terrified Rei.
". . . Since when have you been waiting there?"
"Since 5 minutes ago," placing down her cup, Kana tilted her head elegantly and smiled "I knew you were coming here."
". . ." Rei didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
Noticing Rei's complicated look, Kana stood up from her seat.
---and without another beat,
Rei ran.
"Fufufu, how fun."
When she thought she could escape, Rei was suddenly met by a rain of arrows.
"--However, it's useless."
". . ." 'By the time I turn 30, I'll probably be too exhausted to even talk properly' She thought with an empty look as she let herself fall unto the ground.
____
"Fufufu, now wasn't that fun Rei dear?"
"Hn. . ."
"Ara ara, why so cold?" Kana said smiling elegantly as she sat on Rei's stomach.
". . .Why?"
"Hm?"
"Why do you have to torment me like this, Kana-sama. . ." Covering her face with her palms, Rei spoke with an empty, dead voice.
What she thought was the usual excuse "because I love you" or "It's fun", instead it was,
"Because I love seeing your terrified expression"
With a sickly cute voice.
"Dear Lord. How did I fall for her. . ?"
