1 what inspired the idea of your story?
I had just scaled through a terrible ordeal, and I felt the need to share my experience. So, Jihad was originally about me, only with a few tweaks, until it became so much more.
2 what is something you struggled constructing with your story?
Settings. I couldn't decide if I wanted the settings to be an important part of my story, and I still haven't decided.
Description. I am good at describing; it's not really a problem. But since my book deals with pornography addiction, and I'm a Muslim, I struggled with learning how to be graphic without actually being graphic . I hope you get what I mean.
3 what did you enjoy writing most of your story?
Everything. I actually love writing in the voice of Jihad, who is the main character, and since the story is written from her POV, I write in her voice all through. That's exciting.
4 what's the overall response of your story from your readers?
Great. Great. Great. They love the story. They love Jihad. They're invested in her story. And they love my writing.
5 is your story a stand alone novel or a piece of a series ?
A stand-alone. I'm not done with it, but I'm fairly positive there won't be a sequel.
But then, I love writing about controversial stuff. Topics that are hardly talked about within the Muslim community. And I have a list of controversial themes planned for my next novels. So, I can say JIHAD is the first in the series of the controversial books I'll be writing.
6 what would you like your readers to take away from your story?
There's always light at the end of the tunnel. Addiction may be difficult to overcome, but it isn't impossible.
7 what advice would you provide to fellow writers, when it comes to focusing on their own story?
Make sure you write regularly and inspiration will come_Mario Vargos Liosa
8 does your main character share any similarities to yourself?
A lot of similarities.
9 what is something about your story you believe would draw in new readers?
I haven't thought about this .
10 do you have any future projects?
Yes, but only in my head
