1 what inspired the idea of your story?
My story wasn't really inspired by anything. It started as just an idea I had in my head and jotted down on my phone as I was watching my brother's soccer practice, and it basically grew from there.
2 what was something you struggled with for your story ?
I struggled with MANY things with my story (It's currently ongoing), but most of all the plot. If any of you are familiar with the Hero's Archetype, I didn't really have anything for Ebony (My main character) to struggle with except for her exile from Absinthe, which wasn't even going to be the main focus of the story. And at one point I also had another character who was her best friend, but I ended up taking him out and leaving her to struggle alone.
3 what has been the overall response to your story from your readers?
As I'm in the early stages of my book while writing this, I haven't really had any readers. There will be people who check out my book from time to time, but so far there's been no responses. Hopefully in the future that will change :)
4 what did you enjoy writing most of your story?
The scene I enjoy the most actually hasn't been written yet, but it will be soon haha
5 is your story a stand alone novel or a piece of a series?
My story is currently a stand-alone novel, but if I get enough readers and positive responses to my story I might consider a spin-off.
6 what would you like your readers to take away from your story?
I'd like readers to take away that life isn't a fairytale, and people will always make the wrong decisions. Only they might think it's right.
7 what's a piece of advice you would provide to another writer, when it comes to focusing on their story?
Another piece of advice I'd provide to an author when focusing on their story is to make sure their communication of the story is how they want it to be. There are many instances where authors have wanted certain scenes to be dramatic, or they've turned out funny, or vice versa. Your story's success depends on the takeaways readers have from the story, and that's why you want to be especially careful with what you say.
8 does your main character share any similarities to yourself?
I wouldn't say my main character shares any similarities to me, but a side character; the Goddess of the realms, is actually based off of my personality. She's like a much crueler and crazed version of myself, and she became so different from me that I actually ended up making us completely different people. And yes, I was originally going to be part of the story, like Stephen King was in one of his books.
9 what's something you believe would draw in new readers?
Something I believe would draw in new readers would be... if this was a fanfic. I feel like the majority of Wattpad's successful books are either Fanfics, smut, Alpha/Vampire fantasies, or your typical romance. But this story isn't based off of any anime/story/movie, and I wouldn't want it to be anyway. Same goes for any smut/Alpha/Vampire romances.
10 do you have any future projects?
Yes. I have... A TON. But first I need to see if Demented will become successful or not, and I need to finish it, and then I might actually start one of them.
