Chapter 4: Catching Up

Madison's pov

Tonight I'll be going clubbing with my friends to catch up, it's been long since we hung out because work takes a long of our time. Edith And Caroline have been out of the country on business, so tonight we're going to be catching up and letting loose.

Skylar and I have been talking weeks now and she asked me out on a real date. We haven't hung out since the day at the coffee shop I don't know how this is going to work out since she's a minor and from what I got in the conversations we've been having she's not really a commitment type of person so I don't know but I'll see. I'm not really sure where I'm going with either because of obvious reasons but I'm just hoping we know what we're doing.

I was looking at paperwork when Samantha my assistant knocked on my door, "come in.". Samantha walked in holding a folder. "Ohh yeah I almost forgot about that sit down." She sat down and we started discussing my schedule for the next month I needed to do some changes. There's a big project coming up and I want to work on it during weekdays instead of weekends so I need to move my scheduled meetings to weekends instead.

Samantha left my office after we finished rescheduling. I was checking my emails when I got a call from Skylar. "Hey listen my boss changed my schedule so instead of going out Sunday can we do it Saturday instead?" She asked I sigh coz now I have to check if I don't have anything work related Saturday. "I have to check with my assistant first because I also made my changes on my schedule this morning." I said sounding tired.

"Okay then you'll get back to me then."

"Yes I'll check with Samantha right before I get out of work."

"Can you do it now please" I was stunned not by what she said but how she said it.

"What? Don't tell me what to do."

"I'm sorry I'm just stressed." She sighed.

"What's wrong she sounds worried."

"Nothing I'm fine we'll talk later tonight bye."

I was about to say something but the line went dead. I sat back on my office chair and decided to check my schedule now so I can text Skylar just to make her less stressed about at least one thing. I called Samantha and I asked what was scheduled for this Saturday.

"You have a meeting with the Jones brothers."

"Alright thanks can you move it to Monday morning I'll call personally to tell them that I rescheduled."

"Yes Ms Miller." Samantha said.

I texted Skylar that I'll be free on Saturday and called the Jones brothers to inform them about the change of plans then went back to work coz I had a lot of paperwork to finish.

"If you fail to acknowledge the work of others or do so inadequate this will be handled in terms of intellectual integrity policy understood?" I was talking to my employees that just joined the company.

"Understood Ms Miller." They all said at the same time. That is it for today's meeting then I said while packing stuff and went back to my office to wait for my last meeting of the day.

After the last meeting of the day I waited for Steve my personal driver who running late for some reason. After about 10 minutes Steve parked in front of me, "sorry Ms Miller there was an accident so traffic is bad."

"It's okay Steve just take me home I'm exhausted I need a hot shower and a nap before Emily gets out of work."

"Yes Ms Miller."

When I got home I went straight to my bedroom, I went to the bathroom and took a shower, straightened my hair. After I was done I decided to make something to eat before taking a nap.
