Here's a story from today. Today I was showing my mom a funny conversation I had with my friend today. Somewhere in the conversation it came up the fact that my friend was lesbian, and my mom was confused for a second
"I thought she was gender fluid" was exactly what she said."No, she's lesbian."
"But I thought you had a gender fluid friend back in America."
"I have a nonbinary friend, but I don't personally know anyone who is gender fluid."
"But isn't that the same thing?"
That was exactly the conversation we had. I thought and think she is just uneducated, so we had a small conversation about how they were different and identification and such.
"But even in nature, there aren't animals that aren't a girl or a boy?" My mom said
"But some people don't feel like those fit. They aren't a girl or a boy."
"Do you feel like this?"
"No, I identify as female. I'm a girl."
"Ok," *starts taking about different dresses and pretty fabrics*
She seemed like she was a bit confused though. So I hope that if I talk to her about it a little more she will understand and agree, hopefully.
