Finding my Mate

Chapter 12

I feel the cold autumn breeze on my skin. I feel the dirt in my hands, and I breath fresh air. I open my eyes and I am overwhelmed my a bright light. Once my eyes adjust to the light, I can see that I'm in a forest. I get up off the ground and wipe off all the dirt on my clothes. I see trees for miles and miles out. Where am I?
"Hello?" I say "anyone out there?"

No reply.

Shit.

I'm alone. How am I supposed to get out of here? I look up at the sky and the sun is right above me. It's about noon. I better start walking. I head forward, because it's pretty much the only way to go. And besides, I can't get any more lost. I start walking, hoping that someone will find me.

After walking for what seems like hours, I hear a car. I must be near a highway. At first I start walking faster, then I jog, then I start sprinting. When I get to the end of the forest, I see a long highway, just like what I thought. I start walking along the road until I see a car coming. I wave my arms above my head, but they pass me. I keep walking, and I see another car. A Porche. I wave my arms in the air and they pull over.

"What seems to be the trouble?" The man in the car asks. He has dark brown hair with a bit of grey in it. He looks like he's around his late 30's or early 40's.
"I think I'm a bit lost. Can you drive me to Lake Davaro, Ontario?" I ask
"Sure thing. But you are aware that we're in Toronto, right?" He says. Toronto?
"Umm.... yeah I am" I say and get in the car.
"I'm Luke by the way" he says
"I'm Ayla" I reply. I put my seatbelt on and we drive away. How on earth did I get to Toronto. I was just at a party with Hunter..... Oh my god...... Then we were attacked my demons, and I was in a cave. I was their target. They could be following us.
"Luke, how long will it take us to get to Lake Davaro?" I ask
"About 3 hours. I was headed up that way anyway" he says coolly. He has no idea that we could both die on this trip.
