Finding my Mate

Chapter 14

"Ayla? Baby are you ok?"
I open my eyes.
"Mom? Where am I?" I ask "Where's Luke? Is he ok?"
"He didn't make it" she says.
"It's my fault he's dead. I shouldn't have asked him for help. He was going to meet his daughter. She was 4" I say, then I start to cry.
"Ayla, it's not your fault, none of it is" she says. I wipe my eyes and look over to see a familiar face.

"Laura?"
"Hey. How's your head?" She asks
"It's good. I can't feel my hand though" I say
"Yeah, that's because it's broken" she says.
"What?! How is it broken?!" I exclaim.
"Sweetheart, you should calm down, it's just a broken hand. It'll heal fast" my mother says. I put my head back on the pillow and close my eyes. Why me?

A few days later, I was let out of the hospital a my mom took me home. I walked around the house for about half an hour, thinking about everything that happened to me after I moved here.

I met Hunter at the bus stop, I met Cole the next day, then they turned into wolves and fought each other for no apparent reason, I went out to a movie with Cole, I went to that party with Hunter and met Laura, the demons attack Hunters car and take me, and then Claude tells me all that information about what they wanted with me. And then I met Luke, who was nice enough to take me home, and it cost him his life. I hear a knock on the front door. I walk over and open it. It's Hunter and Cole.

"Ayla! Oh my god, how are you?!" Cole exclaims.
"We looked for you everywhere!" Hunter says, and pulls me into a hug. My mom and brother run into the room.
"Boys, boys! Be careful with her! Don't forget that she just got out of the hospital and is a bit broken!" My mom says
"Oh, sorry" Hunter says and let's go of me.
"It's ok" I laugh. I look over at Cole, "come here, I know you want one too!" I say and pull Cole into a hug. He hesitates for a moment, then he squeezes me. I stand there for a moment, then let go. I need to talk to both of them alone.

"Hey, guys, can I talk to both of you in private?" I ask.
"Sure thing" Hunter says. Cole nods and they follow me to my room. I close my door and ask them to sit.
"We have a lot to talk about" I say. "Mainly about the fact that Claude told me about what they wanted with me" I say
"Claude?" Cole asks
"I think he's the demon who's in charge of what's happened so far. He's the one who told me the information" I say. We stay silent for a few minutes, then Cole speaks up.
"Ok, let's hear it"
