I wake up to the smell of bacon. It's sent was mouthwatering. I put my slippers on and walk downstairs and into the kitchen. I'm the table, was a plate of hashbrowns, fruits, and bacon.
"Good morning, sleepy head. How did you sleep?" My mother asks me.
"Really good, actually" I say. I thought that I wasn't going to be able to sleep, like the day Fynn came back, I was too scared to sleep, because I didn't trust him enough yet. But I wasn't scared, just not familiar with the room. I sit in the chair and start eating.
"What time do you wanna bet that Fynn is going to be late?" I ask. Fynn doesn't eat human food. Obvyously. Every morning he goes hunting. And he is always late. "I'm betting 20 dollars that he'll be late" I say
"I bet 40 that he'll be on time" she replies. This is a fun thing me and my mom do. About an hour later, Fynn runs through the door. He's 20 minutes late.
"Pay up, mom" I say, and she hands me 40 dollars.
"Since you got all that money, you can go get groceries" she says
"But then I'm just doing your job for you, and technically, that means that I won nothing" I reply
"Exactly. Now hurry. The bus arrives at the stop in 10 minutes" she says. I pout, and run out the door. I run down the street and I make It to the stop. Five seconds later, the bus pulls in. I get on, and see that it's packed. I look around and see an empty seat next to a boy. He looks around my age.
"Umm.... Can I sit here?" I ask
"Sure" he replies. I sit down.
"Do you know what stop the grocery store is?" I ask
"Yeah. I'm getting off there too" he says
"Ok, thanks" I say
"No problem. I'm Hunter" he says
"Ayla. Nice to meet you" I reply.
"Your not from the country, are you?" He asks
"Is it that obvious?" I laugh. We talk about our families and school.
"So, your homeschooled? Me too!" He exclaims.
"Wow. We have a lot in common. You have and older brother, we're both 15, and your favourite colour is purple and blue... We'll, mine is purple and turquoise, but, whatever" I say. He chuckles.
"Well, here's our stop" he says. We both get up and pay the driver and get off the bus.
"Well, thanks for the help" I say
"Anytime. Hey, can I get your number? You know, so that we can stay in touch?" He asks
"Yeah, sure. I need some friends" I say.
I put my number in his phone and said goodbye. As I walk away, I look behind me and see that he dissapeard. Weird. I quickly turn around and walk into the store.
