Finding my Mate

Chapter 21

Cole, Coby and I drive towards their pack house to meet up with the elders.

"Cole, Coby, why aren't you at the war?" One of the elders asks

"Because, chief elder, I'm here protecting Ayla. Hunter and I are her mates" Cole explains

"She is the girl with two mates?" He says in a puzzled voice "I thought she would have been at least werewolf blood, but she is just a human"

"Well, the prophecy never said anything about her being a werewolf, or anything for that matter" Coby says.

"But that's not the point. We came here to find out if there was more to the prophecy" I say.

"Well.... I can only think of one book that may be of use to you.... Follow me" the Chief Elder says. We follow him down a large hallway, then he leads us to some stairs that go upwards, towards the tower. He grabs a key from his pocket and unlocks the door. He opens it and we are overwhelmed by shelves upon shelves of books. I watch as the elder runs his fingers across one of the shelves, then he stops on one and pull it out. He flips through pages and stops with a shocked expression on his face.

"What is it?" Cole asks.

"It seems that one of the pages are missing" he says.

"What do you mean 'missing'?" I ask

"I mean the page about the prophecy isn't here. Someone tore it out" he says. We all stand there puzzled until we hear an evil laugh.

"Are you looking for this?" I hear Claude say. I look over and see Claude waving the paper back and forth.

"What are you doing here?" Cole growls as he stands infront of me protectively.

"Oh, I just came here to take this and be on my marry way. But it really was a surprise when all of you came strolling in here. Ayla, it's an honour to see you again. How's the mother?" He says.

"You can shut up. She doesn't need to talk to you!" Cole says, still growling through his teeth.

"I wasn't talking to you now was I? Now go and sit like a good dog" Claude says as he puts up his nose at Cole. "Now, Ayla, how do you plan on destroying the werewolves?"

"I don't plan on it. Now hand over the stupid page and go mess up someone else's life" I say.

"Haha. No, really, tell me how" he asks again.

"She's telling the truth, you horrible creature" the Chief Elder says.

"Hand over the page NOW!" Cole yells. He turns into wolf and Coby joins him. They start to growl and prepare to pounce at him.

"Stop!" I yell and stand between them. Everyone looks at me "he wants you to chase him! It's all apart of his plan!"

"Good thinking Ayla, but actually, my plan was this" he says and grabs me.

"Let go of her!" The Chief Elder yells. I hear Cole growl even louder than before.

"Hey, that's my sister" I hear from behind me. It's Fynn!

"Hunter! Fynn!" I say.

"Back away" Fynn says. Hunter is already prepared to attack, same as Cole and Coby. Claude releases me and I run over to Fynn.

"Now that you have her back, what would you like to do?" He says with a sneer

"Oh, I'm pretty sure they want to maul you" Fynn says. Suddenly, two demons appear from the window at his side.

"I guess this evens out the playing field a bit" Claude says with a chuckle. Cole looks over at the Chief Elder.

"He said that we need to leave. You too Fynn. It's their fight" he says. Hunter looks back at me and nods. I look at him and he looks back at Claude and starts to move forwards. Fynn grabs my arm and brings me out of the room. The last thing a hear is Claude's evil laugh.
