Finding my Mate

Chapter 22

We walk outside and wait in the car. Since it's summer and it's 36 degrees, I turn on the AC and wait in silence. After a few minutes, I take a deep breath and look at Fynn.

"How did you find us?" I ask

"Well, Hunter had caught their sent, so I followed him for a while, until we caught up to them here" he says

"And why did you insist on going?"

"Because your my sister" he says. We sit in silence and wait. I look up to the window of the tower and I see shadows, moving quickly past the window, until three clouds of black dust come out the window and towards the car.

"We have to leave now!" The Cheif Elder says.

"No! Cole, Hunter and Coby are in there, we can't leave them!" I say frantically. I feel something lift me out of the seat, and suddenly I'm in the passenger seat.

"Sorry, Ayla, but I can't risk your safety, and we can't lead them home, we need to go somewhere far away" Fynn says.

"Wait! There they are! Their coming out the doors!" I yell

"We can't wait! The demons are closer than they are!" He says as he drives out. The demons will catch them, and probably kill them. I need to help them. I undo my seat belt and jump out the door before we get too far.

"Ayla!!" Fynn screams before he hits the breaks. I sprint towards Hunter and Cole, but I see demon take human form infront of me.

"Honestly, I'm sick of you guys' shit" I say before I grab a piece of metal and hit them in the head as hard as I can. Turns out, Coles training payed off. The demon hits the ground and I keep running to them. When I reach them, Cole grabs my wrist and we run into the forest. We don't stop running until we loose them. We stop and I catch my breath. I sit on the ground and they all sit next to.

"Ayla, what the HELL were you thinking?!" Cole exclaims.

"I couldn't let you guys get killed, and Fynn was going to take me somewhere far away from here, I couldn't leave you" I say in between breaths

"Ayla, that was the plan. Fynn and I made that plan when we were looking for you" Hunter says. I see him hold his head. He bleeding badly.

"Your head-"

"Is fine. I'll heal quickly" he cuts me off.

"Wait, so your saying that you and Fynn made a plan and didn't tell us about it?" Cole questions

"Well, we didn't really have time now did we?" Hunter replies.

"Well then maybe you shouldn't have made a plan without us" Cole says.

"Guys, maybe we should focus less on this and more on Ayla. Didn't any of you notice that she jumped out of a moving car? She could be bleeding and we don't want to attract and rogue vampires" Coby says. I look down at my arms. Their are cuts everywhere, and suddenly my left leg hurts. I pull up my pant leg and sure enough, theirs a giant cut that is bleeding all over my pants.

"Crap, I didn't know this happened" I say

"It's okay, I'll get something to wrap that up, and we can't go back to your place, so we'll have to find a place were we can get it cleaned out. A hospital maybe?" Hunter says as he grabs part of his shirt and rips it off. He ties it tight around my leg, and I moan. "Sorry, but I have to tie it tight or else it won't stop the bleeding"

"I know, it just burns" I say

"It's already getting infected. We need to find a hospital or a pharmacy now" Cole says sternly as he lifts me up and starts to carry me on his back. We walk for a few minutes with out saying anything, when we hear cars driving by. A highway.

"Perfect, we can hitch a ride to a hospital" Coby says as he sticks out his thumb. We wait and Cole sets me down on the ground.

"Will you be okay here?" He asks

"Yeah, I'll be fine" I reply. Suddenly, my phone buzzes. I take it out and I see it's from my brother.

Fynn: what the hell Ayla?! Mom is loosing her mind and I lost you guys in the forest, where are you?!

"Who is it?" Cole asks.

"It's Fynn, but I don't remember him having his phone on him nor did I see him chase us" I say.

"Call him" he says

"What?" I ask

"Call him and see if he answers" Cole says. I dial his number and let the phone ring.

"Well hello Ayla" a rough scratchy voice says

"Claude. Where's my brother and my mom!" I yell

"Settle down, Ayla, their fine. I've just been torturing your brother a little bit" he says

"Do to you touch him! You evil so of a-"

"Ayla, I'd choose my next words wisly" he says. "Your familys life depends on it"
