Chapter 20

"Ayla"

I groan.

"Ayla you need to wake up. Someone came back from the war to update us" Cole says

"What?" I ask

"Someone came back and has news on the war. They're downstairs. Put some clothes on and come down" he says. He leaves the room, and i crawl out of bed. I peel of my pajamas and put on a short purple skirt and a black top. I walk downstairs and i see Cole talking to a boy, probably the messenger.

"Uh, hi" i say

"Hey Ayla, this is Coby, one of our youngest recruits" Cole says

"Hi. Do you have news for me?" I ask

"Yes, i do. The demons have pushed us back further into the battle field, uh, a few demons managed to get passed us and Hunter and Fynn insisted that they track them. We believe that their on their way here" he says.

"Wait, here?" My mother says. i didnt even notice her standing there.

"Yeah, we think that they're after Ayla, so they sent me as sort of a backup. You know, in case the demons actually do come here" he says.

"That means that if they get me they're going to take me to Claude, the guy they took me to when they attacked Hunter and I" I say.

"But what would he want with you?" Cole asks

"Remember what I told you after it came back? The prophecy about a girl having two mates would be the cause of the werewolves downfall" I reply

"But how would that happen?" Coby asks

"I have no idea" I say

"Maybe it has to do with the fact that you have to choose between Hunter and Cole" my mum says

"Or if she doesn't" Cole adds.

"What do you mean by that?" I ask

"Well, if you don't choose a mate, then it would start a feud between Hunter and I, then people would start to pick sides, which could lead to battle, then-" Cole ends his explanation there. He probably doesn't want to finish what he was saying, and I don't want to hear it.

"Well... it could be a possibility" my mum says.

We all stand there in silence for a few moments, pondering on what Cole had said. Could that actually happen? If I don't choose, will it start a war between Hunter and Cole.

"Cole, are there any members of your pack that are still in town?" I ask

"Yeah, our elders are here, so are the mothers with children" he replies

"Could we maybe go and talk to them?" I ask

"Yeah, I'm sure they'll be fine with that. Let's go" he says as he grabs his car keys from the counter.

"Sweetie, please be carful" my mum says

"I will mum. Don't worry. I've got two werewolves at my right and left sides. I'm completely safe" I reassure her. She pulls me into a hug and kisses my forhead.

"I love you, darling" she says

"I love you to" I say. We part and I walk out the door. I get into the passenger seat and Cole starts the car. Coby sits in the backseat.

"We'll be there in about ten minutes" Cole says as we backed out of the driveway.

Hey guys, I'm really sorry that I haven't been updating regularly, my life has been a big cuffufle since May, with school almost ending and planning out my summer, but I promise I will start updating every week, (side note, I've hit over a thousand reads! I'm so proud of you guys! I never thought I would get that many)
