The sound of the crickets filled the night air, creating a certain rhythm that could create a song. The owls' voice entered the choir, making a sound that created the base of that song. The leaves shaken by the wind added a smoothing sound to it all, interrupting The silence of the night.
Nature creates its own music, without using real instruments. It's the rhythm of life. It was created before we were even born on this planet. It was created for us, but we take it for granted to the degree that very few are able to recognize it; the sound of life.
We destroyed its natural elements until there was none left. We spoiled this world, we made it a miserable place. It was supposed to give us the satisfaction we need. It gave us, and we took it, but we've taken more than we need. We have always needed more to fill the void in our hearts, but still, they remained empty, because we don't treat nature the way we're supposed to treat it.
It's a shame that we have come to use it against us, because nature is never against us, we are the ones against it. Once nature is destroyed, music fades away, life fades away, nothing.
I've been thinking about it since the minute I smelled the fresh scent of the trees. When we entered the woods, I felt so relieved and relaxed. It really felt like home.
I dreamt about myself running freely among these trees, under the blazing sun, and the cool wind hitting my face. The wind kept contacting my skin as it felt colder and colder. I shivered in my dream, so I snapped my eyes open to realize that it wasn't any dream. I could hear the freezing wind swooshing over my body as I laid frozen in my sleeping bag.
The sky was still red, so it was still night. I shivered again and tried to move or turn around, but I couldn't.
I was stuck in a way I couldn't think of. My arms were squeezed to my sides and my upper body being squeezed like a towel.
The only thing that was loose in my body was my legs, but I was too cold to even move them.
I felt like I was suffocating. My breathing became heavier and my chest rising and falling rapidly, until that burden, which was keeping me in place, was gone. I inhaled deeply, deep enough that I felt my eyes would pop out of their sockets at some point.
I felt a large hand on my back moving up and down slowly, which helped me calm my breathes.
It was Harry, of course. He helped me sit up before he handed me a bottle of water to drink some. I asked breathless "what the hell was that?"
He replied, an angry expression on his face was visible in the red moon light "a fat ass snake. Long as hell. Tried to choke you with its tail while squeezing your soul out of your body. Then probably eat you or whatever. Thank God I woke up before any of that happened."
I said "thank you." he responded with a curt nod before he asked "you okay now? You should get some sleep, there are about two hours left till we wake up."
I nodded. He stood up after he gave me a light squeeze on my arm, then he started walking to his sleeping bag. I realized that the fire was gone out and I was still shivering, from both, shocking and being cold.
The words spilled out of my mouth before I could stop them "Harry, can you stay?"
Shit! What have I just said?!
He turned around to face me before he walked back to where I was and crouched down beside me. He said "if you're okay with it. Are you?"
I looked down at my hands in my lap and thought for a moment. He wouldn't do anything, right? I mean I'm cold and scared to death right now, and I want someone to calm me down, to feel safe and warm eigh, and that would be Harry. Obviously, he's the only one around. He'll understand, right?
I replied "yeah, but we won't do anything stupid." he said "I can hug you though."
Well Harry. I kinda need to feel warm again.
I nodded and breathed out a 'yeah'.
He was beside me before I could even blink. Engulfed with the warmth that was radiating off his body.
The sleeping bag was so big that a third person could fit with us to be honest.
I scooted closer to him, snuggled into his hard chest like a baby as I let his arms snake around me. I was warm within seconds. His nice faint perfume scent filled my lungs, keeping me calm, and I slept faster than I thought. I slept to the rhythm of Harry's heartbeats beating slowly, joining the sound of silence, and playing like music in my ears.
A/N: And I'm back!!!! I'm done with my exams!!! Yaay!!! Missed you guys!!! Stay tuned for more!!!!! ❤❤
