Apple was upset.
You know what? Scratch that.
Apple was FURIOUS. Downright LIVID
How could Raven do this to her? How could she run away, never to be seen again?
Raven was the key to Apple getting her happily ever after, and now that she was gone and had never been found for Legacy Day, the day was pushed back until they found her. Raven only needed to sign the book, it's not that hard. All Raven had to do was follow her destiny.
Briars face twisted in worry. She looked down at Apple, who was grumbling into her pillow. She witnessed first hand her friends anger when the school was told Legacy Day had to be pushed back until they found Raven.
While Briar can admit she wanted Raven back, it wasn't necessarily so she could sign the book, but just so Apple would calm down. She was also kinda worried for her. She knew her destiny wasn't the greatest, and she realized how selfish Apple was being, but Apple being angry at everyone just set off many red flags.
She snapped at Blondie earlier when the girl simply wanted to ask if she was alright, and she ranted everything out to Daring and her, causing a scene in the middle of the cafeteria. She went with Briar to the Glass Slipper in Book End to get her mind off of things, but when Ashlynn presented Apple with a shoe size smaller she went full on banshee mode on her.
All in all, Briar was having a horrible time trying to help her.
"How could she just- run out like that. Leaving me hanging and making me wait for my HAPPY ENDING!" Apple yelled, throwing her pillow at the wall angrily. "I'M supposed to get MY happy ending and she's RUINING IT!" "Um, YOU'RE happy ending? What about OURS? What about EVERYONE ELSE?" Briar shot back, irritated that Apple was leaving everyone out in exchange for her destiny. Apple jumped, almost scared that she let this bad side out, but it was quickly overcome with more anger.
"Well, everyone else's happy ending is important, but so is mine! I become the QUEEN!" "Is QUEEN all you're worried about!?" Briar yelled, then took a deep breath, pinching the bridge of her nose. "Look, Apple. I get why you're mad, but I also get why Raven ran away." Apple looked confused. "Not everyone gets a happy ending Apple. You fall asleep for, what, like a day? I fall asleep for ONE HUNDRED YEARS. By the time my happy ending comes, all of my friends will be GONE." Briar emphasized. "Raven especially won't get a happy ending. Why do you only care about yourself and not anyone else. Especially the person who is meant to be the key to your happy ending." Briar growled. Apple stayed silent, looking down.
"Apple?" Apple looked back up at Briar. "I want you to think about how selfish you're being, and when you figure things out, you can talk to me." Briar said, then walked out.
Apple sobbed into her bedsheets.
