"AHHHHHHHHH!"

I bolted upright in bed at the sound of a loud scream.
Hollie fell out of the bed and hit the floor.

"Are you alright?" I asked her as she picked herself up.
"Yeah I'm fine. But whoever that was screaming shure doesn't sound alright." Hollie said.

"Shit, Hollie, you don't think that was Doris do you?" I asked her.
" I don't know. Maybe." Hollie said as she went over to our Window.

"Doris's lights are out. Maybe she is in bed." Hollie said as she parted the curtens.

"Should we call Charley and tell him?" I asked as I picked up my cell phone.

"Yeah. He should know what we heard." Hollie said.

I quickly dialed Charley's number.
After only 2 rings, he picked up.

"Yeah?" He asked.

"Did you hear that?" I asked.

"Yes. I know that was Doris. I saw her go into his house. And she never came back out. I know because I stayed up and watched the house all night." Charley said.

"We have to call the police." Hollie said. I now had the phone on speaker.

"Ok, I'll call the police and call you two back and tell you what they said." Charley said.

"Ok. We'll be waiting." I said.

Charley hung up and about 5 minutes later he called again.

"Yeah?" I asked.

"There sending someone." Charley said.

"Thank God." Hollie breathed.

"Poor Doris. I hope he hasn't hurt her. Or worse." I said.

"Yeah." Hollie and Charley both said.

Hollie and I stayed on the phone with Charley for almost 10 minutes when we saw flashing lights and a police car pull up in front of Jerry's house.

"Finally there here." Charley said.
"Hold up, I'm gonna crack my window open a little bit and see if you two can hear them through the phone."

"Ok." We both said.

We could see the police officers (there were 2) from our Window.
We could hear Charley open his window through the phone.

"Excuse me sir. So sorry to bother you, but we got a call about a scream coming from your home. Just came to see if everything is alright." The first officer said.

Hollie and I could hear though the phone.

"Scream? Haha you bet she screamed." Jerry's voice flowed through the phone.
Then laughing followed.
"You bet I made her scream. Jesus." Charley mumbled.

"Yeah really." Hollie said.
"And eww."

"Well try and keep it down." The officer said as the two left.
"We'll do." Jerry said.

"Well, how do you like that." Charley said.

After a few minutes of talking to Charley, we noticed Jerry's truck pulling out of the driveway.

"Y'all see that?" Charley asked.

"Yes." We said.

"I have an idea." Charley said.

10 minutes later I was standing beside Charley, outside of his house trying to give him a boost across and over the backyard fence.
