-- Y/N's POV --
Through the rocky tracks and the squeaky sounds coming from the carriage, closer and closer, we approached our destination with each passing second.
William estimated the time of our drive to last approximately two hours. My time was split between observing the surroundings through the window, discussing different topics with SoSo, and reading a book.
SoSo visibly grew impatient as she continuously tapped her foot against the bottom of the carriage. At first, it was justifiable as she was getting wedded in just a few days; however, soon the rest of us found ourselves fairly irritated at the repeated sound.
"SoSo..." William finally spoke, "Have you been feeling ambivalent?" He looked at her through his work papers.
"No. Not at all. I merely dislike long rides." Reassuring him, she clung to Sebastian's arm.
"I see." He replied, focusing back on his paperwork.
I personally, was advancing into boredom as well. The trees started to look indistinguishable from one another. SoSo and I have spoken about topics that went above and beyond our concern. Moreover, the book which I have brought along with me was yet another masterpiece by Edgar Allen Poe. But even a book, whether it is most compelling or monotonous, is simply just a book when you lack the desire to read.
I detached myself from the small window, inspecting the carriage for any signs of entertainment. A small crack would do the job just fine.
While hopelessly looking around the compact area, my eyes wound up on William. Suddenly, an idea dashed through my mind. Among all of us, he was the most silent during this trip, due to work duty.
I smoothly moved my body towards him. Progressively scooching closer until my thighs touched his leg. He looked at me through the side of his eye, distinctly puzzled at my actions.
"I believe that I have sunken into boredom," I explained myself while attempting to recreate Ellie's puppy eyes.
Thankfully there weren't any compact mirrors around, otherwise, I would've departed this life on the account of the embarrassment.
He fixed his posture, scanning around for similar reasons. Once he registered the fact that there isn't a single crack that would keep me amused for a good half an hour, his attention shifted back towards me.
"I wish I could help by allowing you to assist me with some paperwork; however, as your professor, I am obligated to ensure that the rest of my students' work is held private. Otherwise, SoSo appears to be taking a nap. Generally, naps are a good source of relaxation in these sorts of situations. Perhaps you should give it a try." He finished.
It did not sound like a bad idea if only there was a comfortable spot where I could nap. I began to touch the seats and anything surrounding them, hoping to envision a good napping position. William seemed to have noticed my intentions as he grabbed my wrist and pulled me onto him.
My eyes widened. In a matter of seconds, my head rested on his chest, with my back facing him. He created a mattress out of himself, softly supporting my body.
"Isn't this uncomfortable for you? Please don't trouble yourself simply for my lack of enthusiasm." I stated, attempting to escape his grasp.
"Sleep." He purely whispered in a deep voice, which I found fairly relaxing.
Unable to fight back, I felt a sudden wave of exhaustion spread through my body, allowing me to comply with William.
His back was pressed against one of the corners of the carriage. His legs were spread, allowing my body to spot itself in between them. My back pinned against his stomach as my head rested on his chest.
