His gaze stayed locked at my figure, as though he'd just seen a ghost. Confusion, excitement, and surprise mixed on his face as his breathing became unstable.
I stood motionlessly, happy tears on the verge of escaping as I smiled brightly. My heart ached strangely. It was not necessarily painful yet concurrently, it hurt. It hurt to stay secured in one spot.
It took a great deal of self-control to prevent myself from jumping into his arms. I wanted to give him more time to recover from the shellshock.
After a short while, he erected himself from his seat, slowly and very carefully walking towards me. The situation resembled how a kid would slowly walk towards a wild bunny, attempting to not scare it away.
Then he sprinted at me, arms wide open, ready to catch me for an embrace. He gripped onto my body like there was no tomorrow, sobbing into my shoulders. I wrapped my arms around him, inhaling his scent which was so familiar yet so new.
"What business brings you here?" He pulled away with his hands placed on my cheeks, admiring my presence as he smiled delightedly, tears flowing on his face.
"I am getting married father." SoSo walked into the room, exposing everyone else.
His reaction to her statement was rather surprising, he was not happy nor was he mad. All he wanted to do at the moment was to love his daughters which he had not seen for a good amount of time.
He made sure to embrace each and every one of us, stopping in his tracks as he approached Albert.
"Are you perhaps the one who will take my daughter's hand in marriage?" His sudden change in tone reminded me why SoSo's previous lovers didn't stick around for very long.
"No sir, I am not. However, Sebastian is a good friend of ours, he will ensure her happiness." Albert smiled politely, shaking my father's hand while pointing at Sebastian with his free hand.
"I see. Sebastian is it? Well, what do you say we have a friendly talk with some good old-fashioned tea. How does that sound, Sebastian?" My father proposed in a suspicious yet friendly tone, forcing Sebastian to gulp ever so loudly at the fearsome sight in front of him.
"Sure thing sir." He simply replied, shaking my father's hand.
One by one, our gentlemen introduced themselves to my father. In no time, it was William's turn.
"William James Moriarty sir. Y/N's mathematics professor and a brother of Albert and Louis."He shook his hand, smiling charismatically.
"Aren't you forgetting to mention that you are also the brains of the Lord of Crime organization, as well as the heart of it?" My father subtly exposed him, revealing his capabilities from his dark past.
"My goodness, I now see whose cleverness was passed down to Y/N."He joked.
"I'm afraid my daughter is much more capable than me at this time," Father added.
"A student eventually surpasses their master." William poetically stated while smirking, not pulling away either of their hands from the handshake which had been going on for about a minute.
Father took a step back, placing his fingers on his chin while tilting his head, "I like you, I like you a lot. Quite the relief that a fella like you is trying to improve Britain."
"My pleasure." William bowed down, satisfied. "However, I would not be able to achieve such success without my family, friends... and your daughter."
"You have my blessings!" My dad excitedly shouted, clapping his hands like a kid.
"Father!" I yelled out at his rather obvious hint of marriage, followed by everyone's laughter, including William's.
