"Goodness! This place is massive!" Ellie gasped.
"Albert seems to enjoy large gatherings," William revealed as he assisted me with stepping out of the carriage.
"This is so exciting!" She squealed while clapping her hands.
I chuckled at her reaction.
Once again, I was taken back by her behavior. A noblewoman would not be acting in such a way, despite her excitement measures.
She ran towards me, intertwining her hands with mine.
"Let us dance Y/N!" Jumping up and down she exclaimed.
Before I could respond, I was dragged through the entrance and towards the center of the establishment.
It was, indeed, very immense.
I wonder the reason for such a parade.
Among the great crowd, a familiar face caught my attention. He seemed to have distinguished me as well, as he began walking towards me.
"Y/N! I'm contented by your appearance." Albert approached me with a beautiful woman along his side.
"How rude it would've been of me to miss it," I smiled.
He embraced me into a brief hug, smiling delightedly when he pulled away.
"Allow me to introduce, Lady Y/N GS, my dear friend and the youngest daughter of Duke and Dutchess GS." He presented me to his date.
"It is such a pleasure to meet one of my sweet Albert's bosom friends! Furthermore, it is of greater pleasure to meet one of the daughters of M/N and F/N GS!" She lengthened her hand.
"The pleasure is all mine ma'am." I smiled, shaking her soft hand.
"And this is..." Albert turned towards Elisabeth, stopping in his tracks for he was unfamiliar with her.
"Elisabeth Clive, Lord Albert." She bowed to him.
"I presume you are a good friend of Y/N?" He questioned.
"Best of friends." She corrected him proudly.
"I see. Well, a friend of Y/N, is a friend of mine." He smiled, kissing the back of her hand. "Now ladies, if you don't mind, I would like to have a quick chat with Lady Y/N." He grinned at both of them.
"Not at all. Miss Clive, shall we grab a drink?" Albert's date proposed.
"Yes we shall," Ellie replied, following her.
Albert and I stared at their figures down to the moment where they blended in with the rest of the guests, after which, I turned towards him with a smirk plastered on my face.
"Sweet Albert huh-" I teased him to which he replied with laughter.
"She is simply a decoy." He notified me while signaling to follow him.
During our, supposed short walk, we were held back by several aristocrats who wished to start small talk. Luckily, Albert politely excused us after a couple of minutes into the conversation.
After a passing minute, we had finally found an empty room.
I exhaled my relief, already feeling drained from the amounts of attention that I received.
"You are quite the local celebrity." He said in a satirical manner.
"Sadly my entire family is a lot more affable than me," I said justifyingly.
"Then it is of no surprise why many wish to speak with you. You rarely attend social events. Frankly, I was partially amazed to witness you walk through that door. Sofia had warned me of the possibility of you staying home. I'm overjoyed that you didn't." He sipped his wine.
