Horatiu Machintosh

It has been three years since my mate died. The day she died Raja's daughter disappeared. We looked for the girl for two years but we found no trace of the her.

No one has been in the Dracula castle since Ivory's death. Her pack went back to India to be ruled by Raja's brother. Hours after she was pronounced dead her body was nowhere to be found. My wolf continues to whimper and cry, Find our mate! Please find our mate! Our mate is dead. No, she's not. find her! I shake my head and walk into the castle. Her scent is everywhere, MATE! Just her scent.

I hear a child's giggle, "Ari, where are you?" A female's voice that resembles Ivory's sounds throughout the house. The familiar sound makes me shiver and want to look for the owner of that voice just to be sure that Ivory isn't here.

"Find me mommy." The little girl's delighted squeal sounds through the house.

"Come out we have a visitor." The woman's calm voice sounds out again and I slowly try my hardest to pin the direction it is coming from.

"Is daddy home?" The child's voice is so hopeful as the small pattering of feet can be heard.

"No, child it is too early."

"Oh," There is a time of silence before the child runs out and towards me. "Mommy wants you to leave."

        "Where is your mother?"

          "In the kitchen."

        "Can I see her?"

The little girl, Raja's daughter, looks like she's listening to something, "Momma says you won't like what you see." Could it be that this girl has been living with Ivory's ghost?

Ivory was always about protecting people, it wouldn't surprise me if she continued to look out for Raja's child in death. "I would like to see her, please."

"Okay, momma said you can follow me."

        "Is her name Ivory?"

The girl smiles and shakes her head, "No, Ivory died remember."

The girl giggles as if I asked something that has an answer so obvious. "But she sounds like Ivory."

Smiling she nods and walks into the kitchen, "Momma he's here." As we walk in I see a tall woman standing with her back towards us.

The woman turns around and I suck in my breath, MATE! Go to our mate!

"Is there something I can help you with, sir?" She tilts her head just slightly as she looks at me and speaks as though she doesn't have a clue as to who I am.
