Abhiraj
I walk into the castle and the scent of another male washes over me. It has to be the alpha that was here yesterday. I follow the scent to the drawing-room and I just stand outside the door listening to their conversation. I can't believe that she is going to give him a chance! He is the reason she 'died'. He didn't help her fight that wolf and it cost her far too much. He should have died NOT her! After she finishes her story I walk in and kiss her head as if I hadn't heard anything, "How was your day, my love?"
"It was about normal. Horatiu was kind enough to come and have tea with me." She looks away from me to smile at him, "He kept me company."
"That's good." I force a smile as I try to contain my hatred for the boy, "Dear, can we talk in the hall?"
"Yes, of course." Concern passes across her lovely features as she stands and walks slowly to the hall. "What is wrong? What happened?" Immediately I am bombarded with questions full of concern.
I begin speaking in my native tongue, because I don't want Horatiu to understand what I am saying. "I heard your conversation. Why are you giving him a chance?"
"My dear, if he is my mate he deserves a chance. Does he not?" Well I guess but still... I will never get that feeling. I have no wolf and I will never find someone that was given to me by the moon goddess. He had his chance and now that has passed.
"What if he isn't?" That could crush her if she were to fall for him and he left.
"Then I will know shortly." This causes my anger to flare. Will she now?
"It took you three years to see that Raja was your mate! Even after you knew he was your mate you avoided and ignored him! Then he came to see you. He was so happy that you told him where you were. He was so happy that he didn't have to hire someone to find and watch over you just so he would know if you were okay. But when he got here you were with the alpha that is sitting in your drawing-room right now! Then your brother killed mine, when you were with that man! And even after that you went and got into a fight. Horto or whatever his name is should have kept you from that fight and even if you insisted he should have fought for you instead! He should be dead not sitting in there drinking tea and talking with you!"
I watch as pain flashes across her face and I know I hit a nerve but it had to be said. "You're right it was my fault that Raja is dead and I feel terrible for running from him and not being with him." No, that's not what I said! "I know I hurt him but if I didn't feel bad do you think I would be raising his child?" No, I know she doesn't like children. "No, I wouldn't. You are not the only one who misses him and I sure as hell am not the only one who hurt him!" I would hope she misses him he was her damn mate, but she has no right to sit here pointing fingers at me! "Maybe Horatiu didn't do what you think he should have, in the role of my mate, but I'm sure it was my own damn fault." He should have been man enough to take her place in that fight. "Now if you have a problem with anything I just said you are free to take Ariella, go back to India, make her their queen, and not contact me again." As she speaks I can see tears form but she doesn't let them fall. She's as strong as ever, I think that is the one thing I can't stand about her, she refuses to be a woman.
