To my Favorite "Almost"
The One That Got Away
No matter what timeline we put ourselves in,
there never seems to be one that allowed us to be together.
It actually kinda amuses me.
In each of those timelines, everything was just a perhaps,
just a glass half full,
just a maybe,
just an almost.
We could have made it,
we could have.
But, later I learned, it was just another word for limerence,
a whisper in the wind,
a miscommunication of minds.
No, there wasn't even an "almost"
but only just a glimpse of it.
at least, to me, it was.
And so, you made me learn, that if we expect dissapointment,
we can never really be dissapointed.
So thank you for being a friend.
And thankfully, all we'll ever be.
