"If you need to talk."
"Do you need anything?"
"I'm sorry for your losses."
"Is there anything I can do?"
"You and your family are in my prayers."
Everyone's words were blending together like a web in my mind.
None of it felt real, while it sounded muffled.
Glenn hadn't sent any signal yet. Unless, Paul in walker form was a signal itself telling us the cold reality that I refused to accept.
I could only stare at the spot they'd painted his name on. A memory wall of sorts and Glenn had become their newest edition.
Someone clears their throat behind me, yet I don't move.
"Hey, it's uh- it's me," Ron says, slowly sitting down in the sidewalk beside me.
I don't say a word. Instead, I wonder if the pain had dried completely, sealing his fate there as well.
"Carl and I," he sighs, "We got into a fight."
I turn my head to glance at him, looking him up and down before scoffing and turning my attention back to Glenn's name, "You're not bruised and you're still able to walk right. You didn't fight, you just played around."
"You're not asking why we fought?" he asks.
"If it had to do with me, I would be a part of it."
Ron sighs, scooting closer to me, "Enid.. It was about Enid."
"Well then it's Enid's problem. Not mine. Maybe go complain to her about it."
"That's the point. She went over the wall. Carl wanted to go after her and I stopped him so he attacked me," he explains.
"She'll take care of herself. With how many walkers are lined up out there, Carl isn't going anywhere," I say, getting more and more frustrated with the guy.
"Look-" he begins but I cut him off.
"The hell is wrong with you?" I snap, turning to look at him.
"Me?" he asks, pointing to himself.
"Why are you trying to get under my skin? What do you want?" I ask, anger taking a complete hold on me.
"I was just- I just.. I was telling you what happened," he stutters.
I roll my eyes, standing up straight, "Alexandria was attacked by people while I was out there. You nearly died. Your mom, your brother- everyone nearly died and some did!"
He gulps, sitting back on his arms to look up at me.
"Do you see that wall?" I shout, pointing to Glenn's name, "You see who's name is on it?"
Angrily, Ron looks to the wall then climbs up to stand on his own as well, suddenly taller than me, "Yes! I also see who's name is not on there!"
"Your alcoholic excuse of a father?" I ask.
"How about the man that Rick Grimes killed?" he yells.
"And you think that's special? He killed my dad, too," I say, not thinking before I speak.
"Well, maybe you should understand me, then!" Ron continues.
"No. Your asshole dad and my asshole dad both got what was coming for them," I shake my head.
He laughs through his anger, "And now it's happened to you again. He got Glenn killed just like-"
"Shut up! Just shut up!" I scream, pushing his chest.
