The next day, Rick informed the others what the plan was and how it transpired.
And the one after that, the plan was put into action.
"I'd rather you not," Glenn comments as I place my bag in the RV.
I glance to him with an unimpressed look.
"But, I'm going and your mom is going- I know, I know," he says, running his hand through his hair.
"If you really don't want me to go in, I won't," I tell him.
"You'd do that?" he asks, hope filling his eyes.
"I'll just stay outside with mom and Carol," I smile and he sighs.
"I should've seen that coming," he groans as we make our way back outside the RV.
"All ready?" Michonne asks.
"Yep," I nod and Glenn gives his own answer.
"Carl is asking for you," she says.
"Where is he?" I ask, forcing down any emotion that would give me away to them.
"He's inside with Judith. He said she was getting a little fussy," she explains, pointing behind her back to the house.
"I'll go see him real quick. I'll be back before we have to leave," I tell Glenn, starting a fast paced walk toward the house.
I'm inside within seconds and begin looking around the house.
"Carl?" I ask, opening the door to Judith's room.
Catching sight of me, Judith happily babbles from her bed where she was playing.
"Hi!" I greet her, leaning over to tickle her stomach as she giggles.
"I think your brother is being sneaky," I tell her, "Would you sell him out for me and tell me where he really is?"
She continues to speak her gibberish, but I assure her I know exactly what she means before explaining to her that I didn't have much time to stick around. I bid her farewell and close the door back. Just as I do so, a hand grabs my arm and pulls me against them.
Before I could say anything, I'm cut off by another pair of lips on mine.
"You lied to Michonne," I tell him before kissing him back.
"I needed an excuse," Carl defends, hand cupping my cheek, giving another kiss.
"So you use your little sister?" I ask, once again returning the favor.
"She was in on it. She's my accomplice," he mumbles, hardly separating to speak those words.
Fair enough..
We stay in our own little world for a few more minutes, finding that oxygen was overrated when wasting it for moments like this.
But, we were on borrowed time, after all.
"Jade?" Rick calls from the front door, "We're all set to go!"
I reach up for one more kiss before calling back, "On my way!"
Carl groans, hands falling to my waist.
"I'll see you tomorrow," I inform.
"Be safe out there," he says, bringing one hand up to point his finger at me.
"I will," I grin, "You and your accomplice don't get into trouble while we're out."
"If we do, it was her idea," he says.
