Beth and I had just finished talking to Maggie. Glenn hasn't spoken to her because he's busy helping the others and Kate was still keeping guard most the time. But, Hershel was now in the sick ward helping everyone and Karen and Sasha were both sick.
Everything on our side was simple. The older people read to the kids most of the time as Carl and I stayed guard in the hallway. Last night we didn't sleep because we were up all night talking about everything we've been doing the last few months of torturous silence between us. We did, however, not talk about the bigger issue and what caused the separation to begin with.
Even after Maggie left, Beth and I stayed by the door. She was sitting with her back against the wall holding Judith and I leaned against the door.
"We won't be here long.. Just long enough for Michonne and Daryl to come back with the medicine," Beth quietly reminds me.
I stay quiet despite her attempts to comfort me. I can only lean my head back against the wall and look up at the ceiling. It was over fifty miles of uncertainty; walkers, people, the fact that there may not be any medicine left at the place.
"And Glenn.. He's gonna be okay. They all are," Beth keeps talking.
I wonder if her words are there to help me or help herself. Probably both.
"Hershel is in there," I dryly respond, "With the sick ones."
"I knew he would. He can't sit back and watch it. I knew he'd do something," She whispers.
"And Kate," I whisper myself, sliding down the wall to sit properly beside her.
"She's not around them. I think that's why she's on watch most the time," She faintly smiles.
"On watch near the walkers that made everyone sick you mean?" I ask glancing to her.
Realization flashes in her eyes but she shakes her head and straightens her posture.
"She knows what she's doing," She nods carefully.
She looked sure of her words. She trusted that Kate would do the right thing.
"When we first met, back in.. You know, she always had her doubts about camps. She questioned everything about it. When we got here she was a bit on edge. When she met you-," I pause to laugh, "When she met you it was like turning off a light. She stopped questioning it."
Beth looks over with stars in her eyes. A smile gracing her mouth.
"Really?" She asks, trying to fight back a blush.
I nod with a smile and she giggles, not holding back her reddening cheeks.

When walking back around the corner of the halls, Carl jogs over causing me to smile.
"Hey, my dad found some stuff on a run. He wanted to give everyone here," He says motioning to the two bags he was carrying.
"Okay," I nod, holding my arm out for him to pass me one.
As he does, we begin walking to where everyone was.
"Any update?" I ask in regards to when we can leave.
"Daryl and the rest aren't back yet. Don't think we can leave for at least another day," he sighs. I repeat his action and nod.
A gloomy feeling goes over us until I notice something.
"You're wearing your hat," I chuckle, pointing to his head. He looks away and laughs.
"Yeah, figured I should make sure it still fits," He shrugs, walking a step further from me.
