Idalia
He isn't even touching my skin directly but the the spot where his hand is placed radiates heat through my entire body. I try to look completely unaffected as we continue to sway on the slow beats of the song. At some point, I don't even know what song is playing anymore. I can only look in his dark eyes as he guides my every move. He studies my face, lingering a little too much on my lips, causing my pulse to spike up. Combined with the heat inside the club and how tense my body is, I find myself a little light-headed. Why is this man affecting me so badly? For a second, my eyes gaze at his lips and I get a weird feeling, like a deja-vu, but it quickly slips my mind. I must stick to my job! I must stick to my job!
As much as I repeat those words inside my mind, when the song ends, he kisses my knuckles and leaves without saying another word, leaving me in a total haze, all flustered. I follow him with my look as he gets lost in the crowd. Ava returns with our shots and I welcome the burn of tequila down my throat. What the hell just happened? I need air!
I signal Ava to follow me and we go outside. The air is quite chilly but I welcome it, hoping it will cool the burn of his fingertips on my skin. My mind wanders to a few minutes earlier when his hands were on my hips, on my back and I find myself wanting more of his touch. Snap out of it, Ida!
"We need to leave!" I tell Ava. I need to push away all these sensations. He is my boss. I have a job to do! What the hell is wrong with me?
"What are you talking about? We got here what? Two hours ago? One?" She asks annoyed.
"You don't understand. He is here!" I tell her and her smile disappears. She looks very serious right now.
"What do you mean he is here, Ida? You are not making a lot of sense now." She tells me with a weird shaky voice as I struggle to maintain my calm.
"My new boss is here, Ava! We need to go! He came to me and danced with me and I don't know anymore. Let's just go!" I tell her panicking and she rolls her eyes at me.
"I think you are making it a bigger deal than it is, but fine! We are not going home! We'll just go to a different club!" She tells me and I sigh with relief.
"Thank you, cupcake!" I tell her as she takes my hand and we walk towards the cab station.
When we reach the new club, the first thing we do is 2 rounds of tequila shots. I need to forget about the burning sensation that still lingers on my skin because it's wrong.
A very hot guy comes behind me, taking my hand and smiling at me while he pulls me to the dance floor. I happily oblige and place my hands around his neck.
He places his hands on my hips and I hope that my body would react the same way it did a few minutes ago, but it doesn't. It just feels cold. I don't feel anything anymore.
The guy continues to smile at me as our bodies sway on the music, touching sensually, but still nothing. His lips come closer and closer until he finally places them on mine. He kisses me passionately and I kiss him back but my mind still wonders to him, to Cade. My body is still cold. There is no desire burning, nothing. How is this possible? I have this hot looking guy touching me and kissing me! What is wrong with me?
Ava gives me a thumbs up and continues dancing with a blonde guy. His hands are all over her body and she totally enjoys it. I guess we will be having guests tonight.
I excuse myself and go outside and the guy follows me.
"Hey! Are you ok?" He asks as he places a hand on my back and I get annoyed because I still can't feel anything. Maybe it's the tequila shots. I already had 3 or 4 and I can't hold my liquor.
"Just needed some air." I tell him with a polite smile.
"I'm Matteus!" He says and my smile turns into one of surprise.
"Portuguese?" I ask, recognizing his accent.
"Yeah!" He says and pulls me closer to him. This time, I feel something. I feel panic taking over my body as his lips touch mine again. This is not me! I haven't had sex in years but this is not the night! So I gently push him away and smile again.
"I am sorry!" I tell him and he immediately gets the point.
"Let me take you out for a coffee tomorrow!" He says and I nod in approval, relief taking over me. He gives me his phone and I save my number inside.
The I send Ava a text and call myself an Uber and go home.
Cade
I can't say I am mad that I saw her last night. However, it did make it harder for me to focus on getting my refill because she kept dancing in my mind. I need to control myself. This is just the rush of having a new pet. It will pass after I get my first refill from her.
My phone starts buzzing in my pocket. I look at the unkown number calling me.
"Hello?" Her voice makes me lick my lips as I hear it on the phone.
"Hello, miss Lumien! How can I help you?" I ask her lowering my voice and I swear I can hear her swallow the lump in her throat. The image of her hot and bothered that plays in my head makes me smile in contempt.
"I forgot to ask you where the office is, since the whole situation was rather... unusual." Her voice is shaky. She is nervous.
"There is no office." I tell her, wanting to play a bit with her nerves.
"So...I would work from home?" She asks me, falling further into my trap.
"Yes!" I answer her and she pauses for a few seconds.
"Okay! I have no problem with that." She says and I smile to myself, knowing that my game worked exactly as I wanted it to work.
"I am glad to hear that. Be here at 8 am!" I tell her. As I hear her mumbling a "what?" I end the call with a satisfied smile on my face.
