Dave’s POV

My body was shaking so badly, this was one the men that James had described to us.

“Who are you!?”

“We... w... I am M...Mikey and this... This is Dave!” Mikey said nervously.

“Where are you going!?” the man shouted back.

“I’m going back to my girlfriend! She’s got this really tiny baby! We were out getting things for the child!” Suddenly, the man lowered his gun and knelt down in front of us.

“I’m sorry... I’m really sorry...” The man moaned.

“Umm... are you alright?” I asked him.

“No, I’ve killed innocent people... just a few hours ago, I killed a little girl! She looked to be only six or seven! I mean, who knows what happened to that baby!”

“Wait, a baby?” Mikey asked.

Mia’s POV

Mikey and Dave have been away for a long time and it’s starting to get dark, and I fear they have been injured or taken away by the Psychos. I started to pace at the bottom of the basement stairs waiting for their return.

I had Declan in the dirty sleeping bag, there is nothing I can do for the poor soul, he’s uncomfortable, I know, he’s restless, I know, but what else have I got to do for him. I try to calm him down, he’s crying, I rock him in my arms, trying to quieten him down.

Finally, he sleeps. And I sit on the stairs waiting for Mikey and Dave’s return.

Mikey’s POV

“Yes, didn’t you hear me, a baby! The man in black said.

“What did you do with the baby?” I asked, surely he can’t be talking about Declan? And the little girl that we saw?

“I sat the baby on a door step, across from the blood bath, where we dropped a bunch of paper...” It is Declan he’s talking about!

“Jesus! The baby you’re talking about, me and my girlfriend took him in! He’s in safe hands! That’s why Dave and I are out here, we’re getting supplies for him!”

“You... you took the baby in? So... so, it’s not dead?”

“No, he isn’t dead!”

“Do you want to come back with us? We’re going to go to the bunker in London, you can come with us, and I mean you’ll be good protection!” Dave said.

“Oh! Oh no! Not after what I have done! I’m a cold-blooded killer! I don’t deserve your hospitality and I don’t want to waste all your resources! Besides, how am I good protection?” The man in black replied.

“Well, you have a gun, don’t you?” I said.

“Yes, I do. But it doesn’t have the correct resources.”

“I’m pretty sure someone or somewhere has bullets.” Dave said nervous from exposure to the Psychos, and the oncoming cold night.

“It’s not bullets I need, this bastarding thing runs on electricity, doesn’t it, and guess what! It doesn’t have any power left!” He almost sounded like a crazy psycho himself.

“Well, I’m sorry you won’t come, but, me and Davey need to go, we’re leaving really early tomorrow, we’re going to the bunker in London.”

No! Do not go there! That place is retched, horrible! Mustn’t go there! They’ll use you all as ‘scientific experiments’! Don’t go there! They did things to me! I had to leave, I had to! They nearly killed me doing they bloody things! Never ever!!” Dave and I ran, the guy was crazy, mental!

“If you want somewhere safe,” The man called, “travel to Sheffield! They are safe!”

We continued to run, it was nearly pitch black by the time we got back and good, they were just about to come out.

“Listen, don’t tell the others, we will travel to Sheffield instead, what that man said must have been true to say those things, okay?” I said.

“Yes, sure. Can we just go inside please?” And with that we opened the basement door, entered and locked it shut again.
