Mia’s POV
I sat Declan on the floor, still in my sleeping bag, next to Mikey’s spot and sat back on the stairs. I can’t take this, Mikey and Dave have been away for a long time, and I can’t stand it anymore.
I got up walked half way up the stairs and slowly descended down again, the door to the basement opened and I backed further down. Mikey and Dave came in with three carrier bags. I couldn’t move, I was so happy and full of relief of their safe return that tears started to roll down my cheeks.
Mikey saw me, put the bags down and ran towards me. He stood there looking at me with worry and concern.
“What’s wrong?” He said. I ran into him, arms wrapped around his neck, he put his arms around my waist in a tight embrace. We pulled apart enough for us to look each other in the eyes and started kissing. My mouth moving with his. I pulled apart, and held him close to me, feeling his fast heart beat against my chest.
“I could kill you just now, you know that?” I said to him into his shoulder.
“I know, I know. I’m sorry. Really, I am. All I could think about was you, you haunting every part of my brain.”
“I’m sorry for being extremely attractive!” I started crying onto his shoulder.
“I nearly came up to find you! I was literally at the door when you came in!” I said crying harder into his shoulder.
“I’m sorry. I’m sorry! I won’t leave you again! I promise!” Just at that moment, Declan burst out crying.
“Well, I guess I need to see to Declan!” I wiped the tears from my eyes and walked over to him with the nappies and wipes. Changing nappies was never my strong point with babies! So, in the end, poor Declan’s nappy was too loose, but I fixed it.
I put the dirty sleeping bag in the bucket full of water and let it seep.
Mikey’s POV
I missed Mia so much, it actually physically hurt. I wiped the tears of my face and went to the guys – and Autumn. They had finished packing our bags, we went through the list, just to be sure we had everything we needed. I went over to my sleeping area to watch Declan while Mia went and washed her sleeping bag when Dave came over.
“So, you’re planning on leading us to Sheffield instead then?” He asked.
“Yeah, I am.”
“You’re just gonna believe what that psycho said?”
“Yip.”
“Why?”
“Because, when he said those things there was something in his eyes, it wasn’t madness or anything like that, it was more like genuine fear, pain, you know? Things like that, I wanna avoid London. That’s why I’m taking us to Sheffield instead.”
“Okay, but if you’re plans go wrong, don’t complain to me!”
“I won’t, but I’m going to tell Mia, I want her to know.”
“Okay.”
“Okay.” Dave got up, glanced at Declan and went to the others.
Mia came back she sat next to me. I told her everything that happened up there, and told her my plans for Sheffield, she didn’t question me, she just agreed.
“Oh! I have nowhere to sleep! Neither does Declan!” She said.
“I checked Declan’s blankets and they’re dry so you can put him in that. You, on the other hand, can share with me.”
“Will there be enough room?”
“Yeah! Mia, you’re like the thinnest person I have ever known, I’m pretty certain there will be enough room.” I said.
Everyone started to get onto their sleeping bags, and Mia put Declan in his blankets. She came over to me, I slid in and she slid in next to me, I wrapped my arms around her and pulled her into me.
“See, I told you we’d fit.” I said. She turned around so we were face to face and kissed.
“Goodnight.” She whispered.
“Goodnight.” She buried her head into me and fell instantly asleep. I felt a massive grin spread across my face, kissed Mia on the forehead and fell asleep.
