Mia’s POV

We’re leaving. We’re leaving the safety of the basement and out into the destroyed, broken world, with a very delicate baby as well. Jesus! What’re we thinking...?

“Hey. You alright?” It was Mikey.

“Hey. Yeah, I’m alright. I just keep thinking that not all of us will survive out there...” I said worry shaking my every word.

“Hey, hey. There’s no need to worry! London’s not that far away!” He said soothingly.

“Mikey, it’s like a week’s walk away, plus, we have Autumn and the baby so, you better make that two and a half week’s walk away...”

“Listen, don’t worry, everything will be fine, okay?”

“Mikey, we need weapons. We need something to defend ourselves with out there; the people are mad as anything!”

“Okay, listen, babe, you leave the worrying to me, okay?”

“Did you just call me ‘babe’?”

“Umm... yeah?” Mikey blushed a deep red on his pale skin making his ginger hair stand out less.

“Sorry, it just popped out...”

“It’s alright. I guess we’re ‘going-out’ then?” I giggled feeling my cheeks burning up.

“Yeah, yeah, I guess we are.” He said, a wide grin stretched across his face as he leaned in and kissed me on the lips, my mouth opening and closing with his.

He pulled away as the baby started crying. I got up and picked the baby up, still wrapped up in my sleeping bag. I walked back over to Mikey, the baby calm but stirring a little.

“Do you know what the baby is yet?” He asked as I sat down in front of him. He came closer to me on his knees; one hand on my waist the other at the baby’s head.

“Yeah, it’s a boy.” I said as Mikey’s hand started moving up and down my waist slowly.

“Well, we’re going to have to name him, don’t we? I don’t want to be calling him ‘Baby’ for the rest of his life...” He said giggling.

“I said the same thing to Autumn. So, what name do you suggest?” Mikey picked up the baby and took him into his arms.

“Declan.”
