Autumn’s POV
James broke down crying and Dave told us to back off and to give him some room. Mia took the baby over to her sleeping spot and Mikey followed her. I walked closer to Mia and Mikey. Sam followed me and looked at me.
“Are you okay? You look shaken. You cold?”
“No... I’m not cold. I’m just pretty upset about the situation we have now. A baby? We don’t even have clothes for it to wear, no nappies, no nothing!”
“Okay, Autumn, I see what you’re getting at, but right now we need to-“
“Oh! Oh my God...” I whispered, behind Sam I seen Mia and Mikey in a tight embrace kissing. Dave, Sam, Joe, James and I were staring; I don’t know why we were staring, was it because they will be really cute together? Or, was it because some of us expected it to happen or the opposite? Mia had pulled away and moved her head out the way so Mikey could see us all staring. He got up, blushing, and got the washing bucket out and cleaned the baby’s blankets.
I walked over to Mia, with a half shocked half excited look on my face. I sat down next to her.
“So...?” I asked wanting to know exactly how it happened.
“So, the baby is a boy, and we’re gonna have to name him, ‘cause I don’t particularly want to call him ‘Baby’ his whole life.” She said giggling and blushing.
“Okay... one, that’s not what I meant. And two, yes, we should name him.”
“Alright, what did you mean then?”
“I mean you and Mikey!” I giggled as Mia turned a ruby red colour, clearly blushing. I saw Mikey out of the corner of my eye looking up and towards us, I faced him and gave an over-cheesy smile, he returned and gave a quick glance at Mia then turned his attention to the blankets.
Mikey’s POV
“What!?” James yelled, “We can’t just get up leave!”
“You’re right, that’s why we’re getting up early tomorrow morning and leave then!”
“What’s going on?” It was Joe. I passed Joe the blood splattered letter and he read.
“I think we should go!” He said.
James looked furious.
“We can’t-” he paused, everyone was looking, he lowered his voice. “We can’t leave! We’re better off here!”
“What if we run out of resources!?” I argued, “We have five guys, two girls and a baby we can’t just sit here!”
“When it comes to our resources, we will then move!” James replied a little exasperated.
“Well, I think we should do majority rules!” I yelled so everyone heard.
Everyone looked up. I told them about what James had told me about the aircraft etc. I also read the note out loud for everyone to hear.
“Now,” I said, “All in favour of going to the bunker, raise your hands.-” everybody except James and Dave did so.
“Okay, tomorrow morning we all leave.”
