A year passed. Ben and Miranda were still co parenting. They lessen the talks they would have unless it was concerning their son. It was better this way for both Ben and her. So it didn't seem like they were leading each other on.

Miranda sat in the cafeteria eating her lunch.

"Karev what are you going?" Miranda asked looking at him standing in the lunch line.

"Getting lunch, what does it look like?" He scuffed.

"I thought I told you to the pit." Miranda responded.

"You did but it's my lunch break so now I am here." Alex responded annoyed.

"Didn't I tell you to work everyday and night until you drop. Lunch is for babies."

"Then what are you?" Alex responded and Miranda rolled her eyes. She loved to give Karev a hard time.

She would never tell any of her whiny, complaining, kiss ass interns that she cared for them deeply.

They were her responsibility. Her duckling that she had to raise and sometimes she overly care for them. More than she was suppose to. She was their hospital mother and she took her role serious no matter how bad they got on her nerves.

Miranda looked down as her pager vibrated. "In coming trauma in the pit...come on baby." Miranda teased as Karev hopped put of line huffing.

"Gown up and be ready. They should be arriving now." Miranda said tying her gown as she walked out to the ambulance bay.

"What do we got?" Miranda order as the paramedics hopped out and walked to the back to open the door.

"Benjamin Warren 28 year old male. MVC. Sever head lac. Out of consciousness since we arrived on scene. BP 105 over palp. Pulse over 125.

"Ben?" Miranda stood shocked. Her feet wouldn't move as she stared at him.

"Dr. Bailey what's wrong?" Meredith asked.

"My husband...My baby" Miranda gasped bringing her self out of her shocked state.

"Was there a baby in the vehicle ?" Miranda asked urgently.

"There was one child that we recovered from the scene. They will be on one of the rigs coming. There are 3 more rigs coming." The paramedics said and Miranda nodded tears already welding in her eyes.

She wanted to run behind Ben but she needed to see her baby.
Izzie, Cristina and George were still standing waiting on the next patients. Miranda's hand was shaking as she waited.

"Infant girl can be no more than two. Broken arm. Everything else checks out fine. She's a little shaken up so she's been crying sense recovered from the scene.

"Was there any other babies?" Miranda asked looking at the little girl.

"No ma'am we have two adults pulling up right now."

Miranda blew out a breath as she clutched her chest. "My son." Miranda said pushing back tears.

Izzie and George stared at each other. " she has a son." George whispered and Izzie whispered back "apparently."

Miranda turned on her heels. "You two stand here for on coming trauma." Miranda ordered as she jogged inside.

Miranda ran to the trauma room and she stood frozen at the door. Listening to the commotion.

"Give him one of epi." Shepherd ordered.

"Benjamin." Miranda called out as she pushed passed everyone.

"Miranda?" Ben questioned groggy.

"You're okay. Everything is okay. These doctors will take great care of you. Where is Bj...where is our son?" Miranda questioned as everyone looked at other doctors around the room.

"He's...he's " Ben said drifting in and out of consciousness.

"Hey hey wake up. You have to stay with me." Miranda pleaded.

"Ben is with my brother." Ben finally got out. Miranda blew out a deep breath as she could finally breathe slightly. They never had anyone watch their son.. it's was always the two of them other than daycare. Their parents came around for the holidays and things but that was it. Miranda's her heart  was still racing and felt like it would beat out if her chest watching the love of her life.

"Bleeding internally in the abdominal cavity."

"Hey you all paged me." Callie said jogging up to the door.

Callie looked at Ben and then to Miranda who was standing beside him looking at his monitor while holding his hand.

"Dislocated knee and fractured femur. We want you to set his bone before he goes into surgery." Derek said.

Callie nodded and walked over to his left knee. She looked at the discoloration and she felt around lightly before she took his slightly bent knee and popped it straight.

Miranda winced and looked away. She snapped her head to the monitor as it sounded off wildly.

"Oh God Ben don't do this." Miranda cried loudly as the other doctors yelled he was crashing.

Miranda let go of his hand as they got the paddles ready. "Push another one of epi." Miranda yelled

She watched as they did so and charged the paddles to 250.

"Clear." Derek yelled.

Charging again to 350. "

"Come on Ben please." Miranda yelled.

"Miranda come with me. You are not supposed to be in here." Callie said as she grabbed her hand.

"I'm not going anywhere Callie. That is my husband" Miranda snapped as the other doctors looked at her shocked.

"Come on let them do their job." Callie begged.

Miranda blew out a breath and then walked with her as she looked back at Ben on the way out.
"Is the chief here ?" Miranda questioned.

"No, he was out for today"

"Then who is going to operate him. He has internal bleeding. I need to do his surgery." Miranda said attempting to walk back to the trauma room.

"You are forgetting that we all are general surgeons first. He will be in good hands." Callie assured her.

"Mrs. Warren your husband." Miranda looked up as one of the doctors was talking to a woman but her back was turned to Miranda.

"Mrs. Warren?" Miranda said walking over.

Looking at the pants suit the woman had on, Miranda knew exactly who is was.

"What the hell do you think you are doing here?" Miranda snapped.
"And don't you dare have this nurse call you Mrs. Warren. You are not married to that man. That is my dam husband. I have been married to that man for 5 years. I have a son with him. You don't come into this hospital to call any shots. You are not his legal anything nor are you his emergency contact." Miranda yelled.

"Miranda think about it. Why would I be here if he didn't want me here? How would I know that he was even here, if I wasn't with him." Erica said slyly.

Miranda eyes were red and before she could stop her self she smacked her as hard as she could.

"Whoa woah." Alex said pulling Miranda back.

Cristina looked up from her patient in the pit and over at the commotion.

"Dr. Bailey are you okay." George said walking over.

"Have security escort this woman out."

"Expect a restraining order from me coming." Erica barked out.

"Oh do it. Because you are definitely going to need one because that would be the only thing stopping me from finding you and whopping your ass." Miranda yelled loudly. Pushing against Alex's restraint.

"Bailey what is going on?” Richard questioned as he stood by the entrance with his arms crossed. She was sure that he heard it all from the look on his face.

"Nothing chief." Miranda responded pushing Alex's hand off of her.

"Meet me at my office."

"No can do chief. I have patients and work to attend to." Miranda said looking back at the trauma room Ben was in.

"It wasn't a question."

Miranda blew our a breath. "Go attend to your patient." Miranda ordered her interns who were looking at her intently.

"I am fine you all. Go back to your job seriously."

"Miranda I know you love your husband very much and have been with him. What about 6 years?” Richard said sitting behind the desk.

"You all got married right before the start of your med school." Richard added and Miranda looked up at him with questioning eyes.

Richard reached in his drawer and he put three magazines on his desk.

Miranda looked at the engagement photos of them on the cover, their wedding, and pregnancy photoshoot.

Miranda looked back up at him with her mouth gaped.

"I figured you wanted to keep your privacy. You didn't want anyone here to know that you are one of the richest people at this hospital and both you and your husband are in the rank of one of the wealthiest young couples." Richard spoke softly.

"I didn't want that to be my title. I wanted what my work, work ethic and who I am speak for me. I didn't want anyone to judge." Miranda replied softly.

"Well I'm not judging but your husband doesn't appreciate you. Anyone that would step out on you. Is not the one, maybe you should consider divorcing and moving on."

"You don't know the half of it Webber." Miranda said chuckling looking at Richard who thought he had it all figured out but knew absolutely nothing.

"Can you do my husband's surgery?” Miranda asked giving him the Bailey eyes.

"I got you." Richard said standing.

Miranda called Curt and she told him about Ben.

"I'll call you when he's out of surgery can you bring my son, to see his daddy when he wakes up?" Miranda asked sweetly.

"Yeah sure thing sis." Curt responded before they hung up.

Miranda walked with the other doctors as Ben was wheeled to his room.

Miranda sat down in the chair as the doctors dressed his wounds.

"Izzie what is the most common post op complications that can arise and what we need to be on the look out for?"

"Blood clotting." She answered and Miranda nodded.
Miranda looked at the cast on Ben's leg and she stood. She touched it softly before running her hand up his arm.

Miranda looked at the cuts on his face from the shattered glass that hit his face.

She softly ran her hand across his lips and his nose. Dam she loved him and it was no denying that.

Forgetting that her interns were in the room. She looked up at them as they stared at her intently.

This was the first time that they ever saw a soft caring and loving side of Miranda.

"Don't look at me like that I am not weak. I am still the Nazi and will-

"Mommy" Ben cheered walking into the room with his uncle holding his hand.

"Oh my goodness." Miranda said excitedly as she scooped him up in her arms. Kissing him on the cheek before blowing raspberries on his cheeks.

Ben started laughing at his mother before he looked over at Ben in the bed. "Daddy sleep" He said softly.

"Yes he is honey." Miranda said softly before turning to her interns.

"You all can go. I know there are labs and things that need to be handled and the pit." Miranda told them and she watched as they nodded scattering off.

"Thank you Curt." Miranda told him as they both took a seat.

Miranda sat and talked with Curt before he left. She got up and took Ben to the cafeteria. She received so many stares about Ben. She kinda just wish she would have told everyone about her child and husband.

"This is your son?" Derek asked and Miranda nodded as he ate the fruit she placed in front of him.

"Yup, he is one and six months." Miranda said and Derek smiled before saying "I would have never thought."

"Thought that I would have a baby and a husband?"

"And it's not in a rude way, Bailey it's just your personality. Your so hard and stern and no nonsense."

"I'm stern and no nonsense because that's the only way a surgeon can survive. I'm already short, I don't need hormonal and soft working against me. I have had people try to run over me before and I'm determined to not let that happen again." Miranda answered and she watched Derek nod again in understanding.

"Beautiful kid." Derek said and Miranda smiled big.

"Thank you. My pride and joy." Miranda told him.
"Okay you are all finished. You ready to see daddy? Hopefully he is awake." Miranda said as she picked Ben up and put him on her hip, while throwing his trash away.

"Daddy." Ben said excitedly as they came around the corner into his room.

"Hey kiddo." Ben greeted with as much as excitement he could put on.

Miranda softly put Ben on the bed and she watched as he hugged Ben's neck. "Carefully baby." Miranda told him sliding his foot over from Ben's incision spot.

Ben looked down over at the spot with wound dressing. "Yeah daddy's hurt right there." Miranda said softly.

Ben stared at the spot trying to understand. "Boo-boo." He said before looking back at Ben touching his face with his small hand

"Yes." Ben smiled

"Benjamin Warren." Miranda said quietly looking at him.

"I love you Miranda." Ben professed seriously.

"Don't say that...your girlfriend or in her words wife was just here." Miranda huffed looking at him, her eyes now blazing. She was getting mad just thinking about it.

"Who!?" Ben asked shocked.

Miranda clicked her teeth staring at him. "Just because you are hurt don't mean you have to play coy with me. You were with Erica, that woman that you wanted all along at the time of the accident." Miranda said her voice picking up as she crossed her arms.

"Miranda no I wasn't." Ben replied seriously.

"Well she was here, the only one here after your accident asking for information about you. That's a hell of a coincidence." Miranda responded rolling her eyes.

"I was with Curt after we left the meeting with my dad. My dad is not using the firm that Erica works for partnership anymore with legal things. So he was pulling out. He asked me to go get the last bit of paper work from the secretary on the first floor and that's what I was going to do. I made it to the light right by her firm when an idiot flying through a red light slammed right into the side of my car. I promise I wasn't there to see her. We are not together and won't ever be. Miranda I want you. I've been waiting for you. I don't want no other woman. I just want my wife." Ben said seriously.

Miranda was silent looking down at him, she still held an angry look on her face.

Ben looked at Miranda and he looked at her purple stethoscope around her neck that he bought for her years ago.

Ben began to clutch his chest and Miranda looked over at the monitors concerned.

"What is it, what's wrong?" Miranda asked urgently.

"My heart." Ben said seriously.

"What about it honey, nothing is wrong on the monitors." Miranda said concerned.

"Check my heart." Ben said ushering to her stethoscope.

Miranda immediately pulled it down and she put them in her ear.

She placed it to his chest listening.

"You hear that Miranda." Ben asked and Miranda shook her head she didn't hear anything wrong.

"Keep listening." He encouraged.

"Ben I don't hear anything wrong." Miranda huffed.

"My heart....it beats for you." Ben said softly taking her hand.

Miranda sat up, she wanted to a have a looked of annoyance, but when she met Ben's eyes and she saw the sincerity in them she blew out a breath.

"I hear it Benjamin." Miranda said before leaning down to brush her lips against his. Softly at first but it quickly became passionate, intense and hard.

Miranda pulled away and rested her head against his.

"I love you Benjamin Warren." Miranda confessed.

"I love you more Miranda Bailey-Warren." "So does this mean-" Ben started hopeful.

"It means everything you want it to mean. We are together and back regularly married again. Just don't mess it up this time. Is there anything else that I need to know now?" Miranda asked up front.

"No there isn't." Ben confirmed thinking.

"Oh, little Ben said he wants a brother or sister" Ben added.

"A bro- my baby did not say that." Miranda said laughing.

"No, not that Benjamin. This Benjamin." Ben said pointing to his penis.

"You are so nasty." Miranda replied laughing lightly mushing his face.

"You like me like that." Ben responded licking his lips.

"Can you not act like that in front of our son....and---" Miranda started as she whispered quietly. "Tell little Ben that when you are well and cleared for activity. He can saddle up and get ride for a long ride." Miranda teased.

"Miranda." Ben called out with a warning tone.

"Husband." Miranda teased.

"Daddy." Ben rung through clearing them of their thoughts.

"Son." Ben called back looking at him.

"Mommy." Ben called looking up at her.

"Baby." Miranda responded kissing him on the head.

"So when I get discharged. You can hire the movers to move you back in."

"I will." Miranda responded kissing him on the head.
