Chapter 9✔️

Steve-

I groan as my body buzzes awake, a smile pulling on my face. I can't believe that happened. It was more than I ever could think it would be. I know she'll still be with Bucky here and there since we're the only ones she can heal off of, but I can't wait to kiss her again. Opening my eyes I look next to me to see if she was up yet, but she wasn't there. I drawled my brows together in confusion, I didn't hear her get up. She must of gone to get a drink or something.

Standing up, I grabbed my boxers and start dressing. Thoughts of what happened earlier running through my head, what had made her break down like that? Her hand was messed up bad, not to mention the shower wall.  What did she mean that it was already too late? Did this have something to do with why Loki was afraid of her? What did he do to make her like this? All these thoughts were flooding my mind as I dressed.

I left the room to see Bucky smirking at me as he left his room.

"Have some fun while I was gone?" He asked. His tone wasn't what I expected. I thought he might be a bit jealous or upset. But he seemed, proud? Impressed? Maybe he knew it would happen eventually.

"You heard? I thought we were quiet." I grinned at him, he walked over and patted my pack.

"No, you were quiet. But I can see it on your face." He said as we both walked to the elevator. "And What happened in the shower? Tony is a bit annoyed when Friday told him that repairs were needed." I frowned at him.

"I don't know. I had to break in the door to get to her. She was whispering something and started to punch the wall." Bucky snapped his eyes to me, confusion written all over his face.

"Well where is she?"

"I don't know, she was gone when I woke up. I thought maybe she went to get a drink."

"I was just down there, I didn't see he-" Bucky was interrupted by the elevator changing floor numbers.

"Mr. Stark has requested all Hero's to the conference room for an emergency." Fridays voice echoed through the elevator.

"Well I guess we'll see her soon." Bucky muttered as we waited for the elevator to open up.

As soon as the doors opened, we walked to the conference room. But Freyja was nowhere to be seen. Tony gave me a worried look. Loki and Thor were back as well. Both frowning.

"Freyja has left." Was all Tony said before my mind went blank. What? What did he just say? What does he mean she left? Left to the store? Left the country? Left the planet? Before I could question him, he spoke up. "Theres more body's showing up. We need to go out looking for her, I don't know what happened, but we can't let her contin-" Tony stopped.

"I'll go get her." Loki spoke up. "This has to do with my mistake. Let me go find her. I'll bring her back safely."

Tony shook his head, "Point Break will go with you. You are still on probation." Loki just rolled his eyes and nodded in agreement. They left quickly, without another word.

"Does anyone know what happened? Friday mentioned some damage in the shower on her floor." He looked to Bucky and I, "Do either of you know anything?"

I sighed, "She broke down earlier, but I took care of it, well, I thought I had taken care of it. I don't know what happened." Everyone was staring at me, "She just kept whispering under her breath and crying. Then just started to punch the wall."

Natasha furrowed her brows, "What was she whispering? I'm sure you heard her." I glanced around, everyone was waiting for me to say what she had said in hopes of it being a clue.

"She kept saying It was already too late. I don't know what was too late. I think it has something to do with the Loki situation."

"Well, apparently Loki thinks so too." Wanda muttered, "I should have stopped her. Or looked in her head."

I snapped to her, "What? You saw her leave?!"

"Uh- I mean, I saw her in the elevator when I was going to the kitchen. I assumed she was going to the gym. She was dressed for it, and she always gets up early." She said fast, pain evident in her voice. She thought she could have stopped her. But in reality, no one probably could have stopped her.

"It's okay Wanda. You couldn't have stopped her even if you did try. Don't blame yourself." I told her reassuringly. She smiled back at me.

"They'll find her, they know her better than any of us." Tony stated. He was right, if they couldn't find her, who would?

I noticed Bucky leaving the room. "Buck, where you going?"

"To train." He muttered. He was upset. I nodded.

"I'll go with you." I said and walked with him.
