A Letter written to Biffa and Jessassin from Mumbo:

To Biffa and Jessassin:

You have been told the news, right? Hope you're doing well both mentally and physically:

It's been two weeks or so since we came back home, the atmosphere was never quite the same.

We've been busy little bees rebuilding, replanting, restoring everything back to its former glory.

We had come to terms with Grian's death, but it still hurts you know, seeing his cabin; his own home, slowly filling with dust.

"Are you sure he'll response?" I asked Tango, who was writing a letter.

"He should if he has any human sympathy." He answered, signing off his letter to Hades.

"That's the problem, he's a god. I doubt he'll go back down to Tartarus to receive his body."

Tango's hand shook in outraged, "I trust Hades. He knows how much this means to me... to be able to give Grian a proper sendoff."

Yet, there was not a single word form Hades or any of the gods expect Nike and Hestia, they were the only two that cared.

I remember Hestia sending us some flowers: Lavenders, poppy and some beautiful Lisianthus and Helleborus surrounded by basils, all of which are symbols of peace. There was a small letter tied with the flowers:

"You have finished your journey; you should feel proud of yourself. If not, I understand, after all you have lost someone dear form your heart, and I am so sorry I can't do anything more.

The gods don't allow me to go and gave my respects, so I sent these flowers that never withers, say goodbye to him for me.

μπορεί να είναι η ειρήνη

-Hestia."

A sweet and bitter-some letter for sure.

His funeral was just a day ago, Nike came to pray for Grian to find peace wherever he is.

"I'm so disappointed in myself... I can't do a proper funeral for him." Tango sighed.

"That's Hades' fault not yours, I tried to convince him too. But he did not listen at all." Nike said, lying down her flowers.

"By the way, how is Python holding up?" Xisuma asked.

She shook her head, "He still in shook, I doubt he can handle a funeral at the state he is in."

Poor Python, You should go and visit him sometime in the future.

The funeral was how you expected it to be, just silence and grief hanging over us.

A bit after the funeral was over, I spotted Joe sat near it, he was playing his ukulele, a weird shadow covered his face.

The dinner is starting right now, but I don't really have an appetite right now. Can't blame me heh.

Guess Joe feels the same too, He has sat there for like a few hours just drumming his ukulele.

On his tombstone, is all the flowers that Nike and Hestia gave, the basils has bloomed and bore their seeds, so there are small saplings that gave a bit of life. His leftover clothes are neatly stacked near it, waiting to join with their owner. On the tombstone, a white veil was hung over by Nike, she said that it was to bring spirits to rest and have true peace, a small symbol is craved into the tombstone: a pair of small wings; above it wrote:

"Here Lies Grian, A True Friend"

"I was never meant to have a happy ending." God, those last words haunt me till now, he was ready to just die there, he had no fear. He knew what was going to happen.

Ashrune is still in Tango's possessions, out of all of us, I think he felt the most guilt and I feel so bad for him.

"I knew something was wrong. I felt something that told me that he was planning something bad to himself. But I didn't stop it before it was too late because I didn't like those thoughts." Is what he told me that day, but he don't believe that Grian is truly dead.

"If he had died down there, I would have felt it, but I don't feel anything."

Maybe he's still in denial? I'll talk to him about it later, as Hestia puts it "You should never bottle your emotions, they'll come back stronger and may cause harm to dear friends and foes alike."

So, do take care of yourself alright? Let us know if you need anything:

Warm regards, -Mumbo.

TLDR:

An ending to a long tale.

Author's Notes:

A short bittersweet end:

Well, this was a long ride.

Maybe I'll write another book, maybe not.

Also hints of his death started all the way back in Alone in Thoughts in the full prophecy:

G-reat unrest in ivory veil

R-ebuilding the Ground never there

I-n a space out of this tale

A stranger too similar, breaks the barrier

N-o strings broken to turns Fates around

I am sure you can figure out the meaning.

And the lines of text that looks like gibberish? Base 64.

Decode it, maybe something will happen.

But the Grian dies ending was planned a long time ago:

Heck I drew it even: (It's a bit old but it's fine)

Heck I drew it even: (It's a bit old but it's fine)
