In the last chapter you and Lily observed a group of spirits gathering around a lake which was a mana hotspot but things soon went bad as a fallen had arrived. In a brave effort to protect the spirit you jump into action but the fight between you and the fallen is pushed to it's limit but because of this you and Lily unlocked a new spell now as spirit link.

After resting where the spirits had gathered me and Lily head back to the Black Bulls hideout but we stop at the door as I thought about that spell. "Lily that spell does it come with any side-effects" I asked as she looked at me confused before understanding my question. "They ain't dangerous except for one the spirit link spell does merge us together with a great boost to our magic power however once it's cast both caster and spirit are connected so if you die I die and the reverse is true as well" Lily told me as I look up at the stars before looking back at Lily.

"Tomorrow we will need to practice with that spell but I promise to protect you until it can be undone" I told Lily as we walk into the hideout and just enjoy the company of our fellow Black Bulls. "Oh [Fn] your back what who is she" Asta says as I look at him confused before I notice everyone looking at me and Lily. "Wait can you all see her" I say pointing at Lily as they all nod but it confused us because when Lily first came here she couldn't be seen by anyone except for me so how the only that it could be the spirit link.

"Well everyone this is Lily the spirit of nature" I say as everyone is instantly amazed before rushing over to talk to her but this made her happy because now she was able to be seen and heard so I leave her with the others before sitting next to captain Yami. "Yami what do you know about spirits" I asked as I saw how he was watching the squad interact with Lily before answering my question. "All I really know is that spirits have incredible mana however they are unable to be seen by anyone unless they are summoned with magic why" Yami asked as I watched everyone getting along so well with Lily.

"I just asked because I think things are going to change" I told him before I rejoin the others and have a fun time with them. The next morning me and Lily were up bright and early doing some training with this new spell however we met with less than successful results.

"Ok lets try this again" I say as me and Lily become one just like before as I begin to try and gather mana for spirit magic but I find it difficult and it soon explodes which forced me and Lily to unlink. "You ok" Lily asked as I sit up trying to think of a solution to this problem. "How come I could use spirit magic before" I said as Lily sat next to me as the look of fustration was ever present on my face. "You could only use the spirit magic because of we were near a mana hotspot which contiued to give us mana but it's impossible since spirit magic uses up a ton of mana for a single spell" Lily told me as I keep thinking before I get an idea.

"In that case lets try this" I say as I begin to gather mana into myself but Lily sensed I had hit my limit but I continue to gather mana. "[Fn] your going to far at this rate your spirit will burst" Lily said concerned about my safety but I just smile. "So what....we Black Bulls have a motto push passed your limits" I say as I focus all the mana I collected into my hands.

"SPIRIT MAGIC FAIRY SWORD" I shout as the weapon forms in front of me and I take hold before making a slash at a nearby tree cutting it down before me and Lily split. "Told you I could push passed my limits" I say before falling to the ground exhausted. *[Fn] even though your life has been hard you never let it get you down instead you pushed passed it reaching all new heights but you still keep pushing I'm glad your my partner* Lily thought as she sat next to me allowing me to rest after our training.

To the hideout:

"Hey did you guys feel that surge of magic power" Magna said as everyone but asta could feel the intense mana. *It must be [Fn] and Lily they did say that their training was intense but this is different* Vanessa thought as she reached for her wine while looking out the window at the blue sky wondering how far you can push your limit and just what it might do if you push yourself too far.

In my mind:

"Tik tok goes the clock till my freedom here" ??? says as I find myself swimming in black water before it tries to pull me down but I fight back. "You'll never get out never" I say before waking back up in the real world panting while looking at my hand and notice Lily sitting next to me asleep which was good before I take a second to calm down. *I'll never let you out* I thought before picking Lily up and head back to the hideout for some real sleep hoping tomorrow will be better.
