Old Scars

It had been a week since me and Lily started training to use the spirit link slowly making progress at first I could only stay linked for 30 minutes but now I can stay linked for about 50 minutes but old memories came to the surface as the days went on.

"Spirit magic fairy sword" I said before slicing a tree with my magic sword before unlinking with Lily so we can take a break. "Your improving very quickly but don't push too far" Lily says before walking back to the hideout to have some food and water as I at under a tree and close my eyes as a light summer breeze touched my skin. *Days like this sure bring back memories good and bad but I can't ever forget that day* I thought as a memory flashed into my mind but it was not a happy one for that day as burned into my memory as I saw my village burning and screams echoing through the air as a shadow figure stands in front of me but I soon open my eyes while holding my head.

"I might take a walk" I told myself as I begin to walk in any direction but the memory never fades but as I walk I soon notice a small village. "This place kind of reminds me of my village" I say as I walk through the village taking in the sights before an old man calls out to me. "You there your not from around here are you travelling" he says as I walk over to him and notice something strange he had small horns on his head.

"You could say that if you don't mind me asking but what are you" I asked as he looked confused before understanding. "I take it you've not seen a demon before or maybe you have" he said as I look at him with a confused look on my face as how he could tell but I stay on guard just in case. "No need to worry all the demons here live to one day become friends with humans but I can understand why you would be on guard but fear not no one will hurt you" he said in a calm tone but what stood out to me was the face that his world had no trace of a lie he was being honest and so I choose to let my guard down and trust his words.

"I'm sorry for jumping to conclusions" I say show the old demon in front of me respect. "No need you only did it because of a past experience but your still in pain ain't you" he said in a kind and understanding tone which felt nice.

"I have been fighting for a long time and to be honest I'm tired but I have to keep fighting or I'll lose everything again" I say as the old demon looked at me and could see I had been fighting for a long time as he smiled. "You struggle but remain ever strong I wish to help you and maybe it will free you of this burden that you carry" he said as I nod before we head out of the village to train but little did I know it was going to be even tougher than learning how to control spirit link magic.

After walking for about 2 miles we arrive at a wide open field before I see the old demon sit down by a nearby tree. "We will take this slow and stead your first lesson is to be motionless" he said as I looked at him confused. "Let me explain the world is made up of magic but this is because of two factors the yin and yang the yin is the most common as it's used for strength allowing people such as the magic knights to cast powerful spell and yang is mostly used for collecting and storing mana in the body but this is less common for it takes time" he said before I still looked confused as to what he wanted me to do.

"Now the lesson I want you to use yin for strength and yang for collection at the same time in other word combined them together" he told me as I step back thinking about how I could even do it before closing my eyes and sit on the ground trying to collect mana but nothing really changed until.

In my head:
"Got to say never thought you would be able to come here and see me" a voice in my head said as I look  round at the inside of my mind at the source of the voice. "I don't get why I'm here but something tells me your cause of it" I say as the source of the voice just chuckled before speaking. "Me listen kid I can't do anything because of you and this damn seal so you must need me for something" the voice said as I sigh before walking closer.

"I want to make a deal in exchange for me loosening the seal you help me with my training well do we have a deal" I asked the person who stood in front of me surrounded by chains. "Deal and I'll even give you a gift my grimoire and all it's spells will be yours just don't die" the voice said as I begin to walk away as the chains vanish but I stop and look at the person. "I never gave you a name did I how about Vado" I say as he nods and I exit my mind.

Meanwhile the old demon stayed by his tree watching before he sees an aura of mana form around my body before I stand up and look in his direction. "What's next" I asked as I see the look of amazement on his face before he gave me a smile. *This boy maybe the legend is coming true but only time will tell* he thought as he walks over to me so I could contiue with my training.
